Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Speak of the Devil Walkthrough

Speak of the Devil is the 14th main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Speak of the Devil main story quest.

Go to the Devil’s Den with Zizka

You will be riding with Zizka. Press / to auto-follow him. Along the way you can engage in conversation, then you get an option to fast travel to Devil’s Den inn.

Note: put on your best armor/weapon. A mandatory fight will begin in the next objective.

Once there, dismount and go to Zizka to trigger a cutscene. Some rowdy inn customers have started a fight, you must defend Zizka’s friend.

Help Kubyenka in the brawl

Defeat the attackers.

Afterward you have a talk with Zizka and his friend Kubyenka. You can exhaust the questions to hear some extra info. He explains what happened to the Dry Devil, he was captured a month ago and is being held in the town jail. They plan to break him free during a prisoner transport, by creating an ambush and shooting the guards with guns. We must then go with Kubyenka to find weapons.

Follow Kubyenka to the weapons

Kubyenka takes us to his old bandit camp where he buried handcannons. Get on your horse and follow him.

Once you reach the camp and Kubyenka stops walking, talk to him and he suggests where to dig for the weapons. A spade for digging can be found in front of the small “tent” (same place where you talk to Kubyenka in the camp).

Get the guns

We must now follow Kubyenka through the woods and dig where he stops. He doesn’t remember where he buried the guns so we’ll have to take a few stops and dig up various graves until we find the right spot.

At the first stop there’s a grave you can dig up.

Second stop is at a stream. He wants you to get the booze from the basket in the stream, if you agree he’ll be happy. The basket is inside the stream underwater. It contains 2 Moonshine, give it to him.

Third stop is another grave. It contains a corpse you can loot.

Fourth stop is the correct one that contains the weapons.

Tell Kubyenka you can go

You automatically talk to him after digging up the weapons.

Follow Kubyenka to the ambush spot

Get back on your horse and follow him again. He’ll sing songs until you arrive at the ambush site.

Give the hand cannons you found to Zizka

Note: put on your best armor/weapon. A fight will begin in the next objective.

Kubyenka will bring you to Zizka, talk to them to deliver the handcannons. A cutscene will trigger and the ambush begins. The prisoner transport containing Dry Devil will reach your roadblock.

Rescue the Dry Devil

After the cutscene you can try to intimidate the guards by winning the skill check. If that fails they will attack. Defeat them all.

Afterward you can loot the corpses, the guard captain has good armor.

Tell Zizka you can come back

Talk to Zizka at the cart, he gives a fast travel option to return to Devil’s Den inn. There you talk to Dry Devil to plan the next mission. It will automatically start the next two main quests: The Devil’s Pack & Into the Underworld.

It’s recommended to do The Devil’s Pack first as it unlocks  The Dirty Seven (you found all of Dry Devil’s comrades-in-arms). You will eventually need to do both quests to continue the story anyway.

Note: Kuttenberg region can now be freely explored. You can also travel back to Trosky region and finish remaining side quests by interacting with the Coachman NPC west of Suchdol (red cart icon on map, costs 200 Groschen). Likewise, you can travel from Trosky region to Kuttenberg region by interacting with the red cart icon there south of Troskowitz (costs 200 Groschen too).
