Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Absolver Walkthrough

February 8, 2025 by Gage 7 Comments

Absolver is a side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Absolver side task.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Sigismund’s camp
  • Quest Giver: Thomas of Kolin
  • Requirement: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
  • Reward: 607.9 x Groschen (if you give Thomas the real sword or a replica he thinks is the real sword)
  • Quest Type: Task
  • Quest Description: Sigismunds’ soldiers are not exactly loving each other. One of them, Thomas of Kolin, would like to discreetly get his hands on a sword belonging to a cuman called Basan, and I’m supposed to help him.

Objectives:

  1. Steal Basan’s sword
  2. Forge a replica of Basan’s sword
  3. Return The Absolver to Basan’s chest (optional)/Put the replica of The Absolver in Basan’s chest (Optional)
  4. Give The Absolver to Thomas (Optional)/Give Thomas the replica of The Absolver (Optional)

Starting Location: Absolver

To start this quest, speak with Thomas of Kolin at Signismund’s camp. He can sometimes be found walking around or sitting under the tents near the center of the camp. You can also be pointed to him by a Quest tipster.

Steal Basan’s sword

For the first objective, you will need to get your hands on Basan’s sword. His tent is located on the east side of the camp near the tournament arena.

Make sure he isn’t around, then sneak in and steal the sword out of the chest.

Forge a replica of Basan’s sword

You’ll then need to head to a blacksmith station to forge a replica of the sword.

This requires:

  • 1 x Deer skin
  • 1 x Eight-sided sword pommel
  • 1 x Horned sword guard
  • 2 x Frankfurt steel
  • 2 x Iron

You should be able to purchase all items between the two blacksmiths located in the camp (the armorsmith has the deer skin, the weaponsmith has the sword pieces).

Return The Absolver to Basan’s chest (optional)/Put the replica of The Absolver in Basan’s chest (Optional)

You now have the choice of what to do with the real and replica swords. If you have made one of at least level 3, you can give the replica to Thomas and he won’t be any the wiser, and return the real one to Basan’s chest.

If you want to cause a little chaos, you can speak with Thomas first and lie to him and say you returned the sword even if you didn’t, then give him the real or replica and keep the other yourself.

Give The Absolver to Thomas (Optional)/Give Thomas the replica of The Absolver (Optional)

Whichever method you are choosing to go with, once you have given a sword to Thomas you complete the quest, receiving the same reward overall as long as he accepts that it’s the real sword.

This finishes Absolver side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Thomas has no dialogue other than wanting to play dice for me, maybe this quest has to be done before a certain point? I’m on main quest 22 currently.

You might need to hear the rumor that someone has work for you in camp. I forget who I got the tip from, but it gave me a marker on Thomas.

I think that you have to speak to the blacksmith in Miskowitz and he’ll give you a tip about a soldier in sigismunds camp needing a blacksmith.

I think the guy who starts the rumor is Musa of Mali you find him in the tent up in the camp to the side, he has a bunch of dialogue.

Also i made 3 swords, one replica for myself, and ofcourse 2 fake ones for each of them, oh and i kept the real one for myself too.

the real one sells for less and does less damage, might as well give that one to him

yeah, the “replica” was far superior to the real one, so didn’t feel bad giving Basan the replica.

We can just speak with Basan and ask him to show the sword, without stealing
