Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Hammer and Tongs Walkthrough

Hammer and Tongs is a task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Hammer and Tongs side task.

• Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Grund
• Quest Giver: Blacksmith Zdminir
• Requirement: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
• Reward: 200 x Groschen, Competition hunting sword (if you pass skill check or fight Matthias for it)
• Quest Type: Task
• Quest Description: If you ask me, Zdimir the blacksmith boasts about the skills of his apprentice, Matthias, a bit too much. He even suggested we make a bet on who can forge the best hunting sword. The winner gets both weapons and a nice pile of groschen on top.

Objectives:

1. Take part in the blacksmithing competition
2. Forge a competition hunting sword
3. Bring Zdimir the hunting sword you have forged

Starting Location: Hammer and Tongs

To start this quest, speak with Blacksmith Zdminir located in the town of Grund. Agree with his bet to start the task.

Take part in the blacksmithing competition

Zdimir bets you can’t make a sword as good as his apprentice, but you can show him.

Forge a competition hunting sword

Zdimir will give you the materials you need, then you have to forge the Competition sword version of the hunting sword for this requirement, even though it uses the same materials as the normal Hunting sword.

Bring Zdimir the hunting sword you have forged

Once you’ve forged the sword, speak with Zdimir to turn it in. It needs to be at least a level 3 sword to be better than Matthias’. After receiving the money, Matthias won’t want to give up his sword. You can either pass a speech check or fight him for it, though there’s no real point if you’ve already won because the sword you’ve made will be better than his.

This finishes Hammer and Tongs side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
