Starting Location: Martin’s Dream
This quest starts automatically after the DLC quest Klaus’ Introduction.
Find the former journeyman, Standa the Fly
Klaus tells you about Standa, who should be located out at the mine between Horschan and Grund.
At the mine go near the tents to the northeast of the main building and Standa should typically be sitting near the fire. Speak with him, then say you’ll sort things out with the man he owes money to.
Solve the Fly’s troubles
Go down the road to the marked soldier Leech.
MISSABLE TROPHY:
Racing the Leech (You won a race against the guard nicknamed Leech.)
This is the Leech as mentioned in the trophy. There are multiple ways you can deal with the problem for Standa, but to earn the trophy you must challenge him in a horse race and then beat him. Make an exit save before speaking with him, then choose the following dialogue options: “You want money from Standa?” > “Would you take a bet for it?” > “I’m all about racing.” > “I’m in. (500)”
Ride through the first gate
After the dialogue is done you’ll start the race. Leech doesn’t follow the path, but you can just have your horse follow the path automatically while galloping to each objective as they’re right along the road. If you’re playing on a post-story save this race should be very easy as Leech is pretty slow, and slows himself down further by running through the fields.
Ride through the second gate
After the first gate, turn east and continue following the road to the second gate.
Ride through the third gate
Turn to the north and keep following the road toward the town. Go around the left side of the building to find the gate.
Reach the finish
Keep following the road north toward the finish line. Once you reach the spot where the road splits left and right you can just ride straight through the field to the finish. If you beat Leech in the race you will then earn
Racing the Leech.
Talk to the guard
Wait for Leech to come back, then speak with him to receive the document and your bet back.
Tell the Fly you’ve solved his troubles
Go over and tell Leech that you’ve sorted his issues out for him. In the conversation you can select the options “Better now.” > “Let’s go together.” to go directly back to the forge with Leech.
Back at the forge you are speaking with Leech and Magdalena. You’ll have to go through all the initial 4 options to get more information, but when Standa is thinking about where to go choose the option “Stay here.” to have him stay and help out at the forge. After this you’ll receive some information on where the part of the clock they finished ended up.
Talk to Vetter
You’ll need to go speak with the scribe Vetter, who is typically located in his shop during the day.
Get the heart of the clock
You can get the heart through legitimate means, or by stealing it. If you want to do it legitimately, speak with Vetter and you have a handful of options:
- Trade him another fantastical item. If you completed the main game task The Axe from the Lake and still have the Adorned Axe in your possession this is one option to trade him.
- Pass a hard smithing or very hard speech skill check
- Pay him 7000 groschen
If you can’t or don’t want to do any of these options, you can walk upstairs and steal it. The entire upstairs is considered private so people will get mad if you go up there, but with stealthy clothing it is possible to just crouch up the stairs, then turn right and go through the door to the bedroom. The heart is sitting on the cabinet between the two windows.
Talk to the Fly
Whichever way you obtain the heart, head back to the forge. You can speak with Standa if you want, but this isn’t required and this objective is skipped if you place the heart first.
Take the heart of the clock to the smithy
Go into the forge room and interact with the table that has the drawing on the wall behind it to place the heart.
This finishes this quest, and automatically starts the next story quest.
This finishes Martin’s Dream quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Legacy of the Forge DLC.
