Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Yackers ‘n’ Fash Walkthrough

February 3, 2025 by Gage 3 Comments

Yackers ‘n’ Fash is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Yackers ‘n’ Fash side mission.

  • Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Kuttenberg City > Black Horse Tavern
  • Quest Giver: Foreman Vlach
  • Requirement: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
  • Reward: 250 x Groschen, Thievery XP, Scholarship XP, Craftsmanship XP
  • Quest Type: Side Quest
  • Questline: Yackers ‘n’ Fash > (Tragedy in Danemark) > Striped Tonies > Popinjay Shoot
  • Quest Description: A few days before the renowned shooting competition, the miners from the St. Anthony pit lost their standard. The clues surrounding the theft lead to their competitors from the All Saints pit.

Objectives:

  1. Find the stolen standard
  2. Get into the Saints’ den
  3. Speak with Joerg Preng
  4. Find the merchant Hensel
  5. Follow the clues
  6. Return the miners’ standard

Starting Location: Yackers ‘n’ Fash

To start this quest you need to speak with Foreman Vlach. You can have his location pointed out by a quest tipster, or find him on your own. During the day he works in the mine area in the southwest part of Kuttenberg city outside the walls, but he won’t talk to you while he’s working. The easiest way to talk to him to start the quest is to wait until between 18:00 – 24:00 when he will almost always be hanging out at the Black Horse Tavern, where he will prompt you to come over and speak with him.

Find the stolen standard

Vlach explains their problem with their missing standard, and you are tasked with finding it.

Get into the Saints’ den

Vlach thinks their rivals have stolen it, and you need to get into their underground base to speak with them. The easiest way to do this without breaking any laws is to go through the Kuttenbuerg Underground entrance south out of the city walls near the river. This is one of the entrances to the underground tunnels that run beneath Kuttenberg. You can also enter these through many of the shops, but that typically involves lockpicking very hard level locks, so you can use this entrance outside town if your lockpicking level isn’t high enough.

Enter the tunnel and follow the path to the first fork, and keep heading right (through the archway). You will reach a POI called Wasteyard (Henry will comment on it if you’ve not been here before) and you can keep following the path toward the objective (the path to the right is a dead end). Note you can loot basically everything you see in these underground areas, as they don’t count as owned by anyone. Climb the ladder when you reach it, then take the path right to reach a locked door. Pick it and enter to find the Saints’ den.

Speak with Joerg Preng

This is counted as a private area, but you can enter quickly for the purposes of the quest and speak with Joerg Preng.

When you speak to him you have two options: either pass an initial speech check followed by another or winning at a game of dice, or choose the other option and fistfight the miners. For the purposes of the quest you can choose whatever option you want, as Joerg gives you the same information no matter what. The miners are decent at fistfighting, especially Joerg, so if you don’t want to fight three of them at once you should try for the skill check options first. Once you are successful in whatever manner he tells you that he doesn’t have the standard any longer.

Find the merchant Hensel

Head back out of the tunnels (there are several exits you can use that are closer than the original entrance, just be careful as they lead into private areas of stores) then make your way south of Kuttenberg to the marked area on the map.

If you check the crossroad farthest west in the search area you can find a bloody sack on the ground that you can inspect, which triggers the next objective.

Follow the clues

Follow this path south, and you can interact with another clue which will direct you slightly into the forest where you can find the cart.

Go slightly south from the cart location to find some wolves chewing on a body. If you are going for the Lent trophy/achievement DO NOT attack and kill the wolves with weapons, you can punch them to knock them out or chase them away. Once you do inspect the body on the ground.

This expands the search area farther south, so you want to make your way toward the mill area. Go into the middle of the area where you can find a group of bandits sitting around a fire. They will attack you immediately, so deal with them all. They are pretty weak, so even fighting the whole group shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

NOTE: There is a hidden highly missable task in this location, Tragedy in Danemark. If you do not start it before leaving the area and finishing this side quest it is completely missed and you cannot start it later. Be sure to find the miller and his family before leaving the area.

Once they are dealt with you can loot them (the named enemies have some decent items and the one named Little John has the keys for the area) then go into the lower door on the southern building. In a chest on the right side of the room you can find the standard you are looking for.

Return the miners’ standard

Now with the standard in hand, you can return to Vlach to turn it in. You can lie to him about it to keep the standard (it a blunt polearm weapon) but this fails the quest, so you should give it to him.

This finishes Yackers ‘n’ Fash side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
