Laboratores is the 4th main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Laboratores main story quest.
Talk at the tavern
At the start of the quest you will be at a tavern and engage in dialogue with Sir Hans. What dialogues you pick doesn’t matter, one of the dialogues will always increase reputation and the rest have no effect. Eventually, you’ll see the woman you rescued in the cutscene at the lake during the bandit attack. Henry wants to talk to her as she could vouch for your identity. Regardless of what you say, the innkeeper will shush you away.
Wash at the trough
You have to wash up before the women want to talk to you. There’s a water bucket right next to the woman, at the tavern wall.
Talk to the woman from the pond
Now you can talk to the woman at the tavern door. Regardless of what you pick, she will claim not to remember you. Afterward you get a cutscene and the woman tells you of a wedding at the castle. Then the innkeeper talks to you, she wants to put you to work in exchange for the food she gave you earlier. As a rule of thumb, to gain reputation you always want to give a positive reply with a “can-do” attitude, whereas the negative replies often reduce reputation.
The best choices to gain reputation are “I’m always ready” > “Alright” > “Alright, we’ll do it“.
Say you’re from “Skalitz” > “I heard something about a wedding” to advance the dialogue. Exhaust the remaining dialogues to gather intel about the wedding.
Tell Capon about getting work
Talk to Sir Hans at the table again. Exhaust the dialogues, to gain reputation say “Alright I’ll do it by myself” and “I’ll carry the sacks by myself“. If you try to put him to work it will reduce reputation as he’s a noble and thinks it’s beneath him.
Find out more about the Semine wedding (optional)
Talk to the other people sitting outside the tavern. Ask them about the wedding and von Bergow.
The people with information are Miller Kreyzl/Blacksmith Radovan, and Svatya Thrush.
Optionally, you can play a round of dice against Svatya but it can be skipped. He promises to help you get into the wedding if you win, but he’s lying. When winning he reveals only his father can make invitations and he can’t help you. Playing dice grants reputation and not playing loses reputation.
Carry the sacks to the pantry
There’s a cart parked on the path in front of the tavern. Grab the sacks from the back of the cart and carry them into the tavern pantry one by one. It’s the room on the right.
After delivering the third sack, a conflict starts between Sir Hans and Svatya. To gain reputation say “Don’t insult our dead companions” > “Cut it out“. Other choices can lose reputation.
Afterward a fistfight breaks out. No matter what you do, it will always result in a cutscene and you get punished at the pillory. Quickest method is to drain your stamina and let them beat you up, the cutscene triggers when you’re at low health. Even if you keep fighting you get locked in the pillory regardless.
At the pillory, exhaust the dialogues with Sir Hans as you like, the outcome is the same. You can argue with him, make peace, or say nothing. After another cutscene you are released from the pillory and Hans storms off.
