In the Fog is a Side Quest in Horizon Forbidden West (HZFW). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the In the Fog side mission.
Location: Tide’s Reach
Quest Giver: Fenirra
Quest Level: Level 20
Requirement: None, find the quest location in the world
Reward: 5000 XP, 2 Skill Points, Sunhawk Shredder Gauntlet, Tenakth Dragoon Face Paint
Mission Info: Fenirra fears that her father Garokkah has gone mad after he attacked her without warning. She needs Aloy’s help to find him.
Objectives:
- Go to Garokkah’s Camp
- Investigate the Camp
- Follow Garokkah’s Tracks
- Kill the Machine
- Talk to Garokkah / Follow Garokkah
- Kill the Machines / Follow Garokkah
- Talk to Garokkah / Scan the Memorial
- Follow the Tracks / Kill the Machines
- Recover the Memorial Marker / Give the Marker to Garokkah
- Return to Fenirra
Starting Location: Tide’s Reach
Go to Garokkah’s Camp
Fenirra tells Aloy about her Father Garokkah who has attacked her with a knife out of nowhere. Aloy is asked to search for him and find out if he became insane. Head to his camp and he will not be there.
Investigate the Camp / Follow Garokkah’s Tracks
Scan the area for tracks using your Focus and follow them. You can mark the tracks with 
for an easier time.
Kill the Machine
After following the tracks a bit you will run into a Clawstrider fighting a man. The man is Garokkah. Help him out and kill the Clawstrider.
Talk to Garokkah / Follow Garokkah
Talk to Garokkah and he is going to want to take you to his camp, or better said his old team’s camp, which sounds weird to Aloy. Follow him for a while. He will keep talking about a potential ambush.
Kill the Machines / Follow Garokkah
You will get ambushed but not by the expected enemies, but instead 2 Stalkers will attack you. Take care of them and keep following Garokkah.
Talk to Garokkah / Scan the Memorial
You will reach the camp he was talking about but instead of his team you will find a memorial set up for them. It turns out Garokkah suffers from dementia-like symptoms and thought he was in the past. When he comes back to himself he will, however, notice that the Marker of his fallen comrades is missing from the memorial. Scan it.
Follow the Tracks / Kill the Machines
Once again mark the tracks and follow them. You will reach an area with some Clumberjaws you will have to kill first.
Recover the Memorial Marker / Give the Marker to Garokkah
After killing the Clamberjaw (monkey) machines search through their salvage piles. You will notice they have different colors when scanning them. The item you need will be a purple rarity one so keep your eyes open for that pile. Talk to Garokkah afterward to give him the Marker you found.
Return to Fenirra
Now head back to Fenirra and Aloy will explain what is going on with Fenirra’s father. Shortly after he will arrive and after the cutscene the quest will be over.
