Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mice Walkthrough

February 3, 2025 by Gage 1 Comment

Mice is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Mice side mission.

  • Starting Location: Trosky Region > Tachov
  • Quest Giver: Innkeeper Prochek
  • Requirement: Started Main Quest 5: Wedding Crashers, but must do it before finishing Battle of the Frogs and Mice
  • Reward: 85 x Groschen
  • Quest Type: Side Quest
  • Questline: Frogs > Mice > Battle of the Frogs and Mice
  • Quest Description: The disputes between Tachov and Zhelejov have been going on for years, and now I’ve got myself involved too. The innkeeper Prochek would love to see the Zhelejov landowner Olbram’s bull with some paint on its hide.

Objectives:

  1. Ask Radovan the blacksmith for help (Optional)
  2. Get some paint
  3. Get something to calm the bull (0/3)
  4. Pour the sleeping potion into the bull’s trough
  5. Wait for the bull to fall asleep
  6. Paint on Olbram’s bull
  7. Tell Prochek how things went

Starting Location: Mice

This side quest is started by speaking with Innkeeper Prochek in Tachov and agreeing to help him play a prank on the town of Zhelejov.

NOTE: If you tell the people in Zhelejov that the people from Tachov are playing a trick on them, it will fail this quest and starts the opposite quest Frogs. Whichever one you complete first will lead into the next quest Battle of the Frogs and Mice. The order that’s confirmed for finishing all 3 quests in the same playthrough is Frogs > Mice > Battle of the Frogs and Mice.

Ask Radovan the blacksmith for help (Optional)

Prochek wants you to paint Olbram’s bull, but you need a few supplies first. You should first talk to Radovan in Tachov and ask him about something that calms animals down.

If you’ve already completed the initial quest related to him (The Blacksmith’s Son) he’ll tell you what he knows, which is the recipe for the Lullaby Potion. If you already know this recipe (or you just don’t want to talk to him) you can skip this step.

Get some paint

Next, you need some paint, which you can get from the Tailor located in Troskowitz.

Tell him that you need some paint, then you either have the option of paying him 60 x Groschen, or passing an easy speech check and then giving him a reason as to why you want it If you want to avoid paying, you need to keep picking the options to have him keep talking until he eventually gives you the paint.

Get something to calm the bull (0/3)

Next, you will need to get the Lullaby Potion to give to the bull. Making the potion requires 1x Herb Paris, 1x Poppy, and 1x Thistle (so at least 3 of each as you need 3 doses if you only make Weak Lullaby). You can purchase dried Herb Paris from the apothecary in Troskowitz, but you need to obtain the Poppy and Thistle through other means.

Thistle you should be able to find relatively easily either behind the herb garden beside the apothecary building, or in the field farther south.

Poppy isn’t as frequent, but it is also possible to find in the field or farther east. Poppy also generally gives 3 – 5 per flower picked, so you shouldn’t need more than a couple at most.

You can then head to an alchemy bench (there is one in the apothecary building and another in a hut outside) and prepare the potion. The steps are as follows:

  1. Add oil to the cauldron
  2. Add 1 x Poppy to the cauldron
  3. Lower and boil the cauldron for 1 x hourglass turn
  4. Add 1 x Thistle to the cauldron, boil for 1 x hourglass turn
  5. Raise the cauldron so it stops boiling
  6. Grind 1 x Herb Paris and add it to the cauldron
  7. Prepare phial and pour from the cauldron

If you haven’t leveled Alchemy for the perfect that give more items you may need to repeat this 2 more times for 2 more doses if you only make Weak Lullaby, but if you make normal Lullaby it should count as two.

Pour the sleeping potion into the bull’s trough

Now with all the items prepared, you can head to Zhelejov. Head into the barn and interact with the stone trough in the barn to pour the potion.

Wait for the bull to fall asleep

You then want to wait until nighttime when the bull should fall asleep.

Paint on Olbram’s bull

Now you can go over and paint on the bull. There will possibly be a hired hand sitting beside the barn door who will get mad if you try to enter the room where the bull is, so you should first throw a stone nearby to get him to stand up and walk away.

When he does quickly sneak through the door, then interact with the bull to paint on it.

Tell Prochek how things went

You can then head back to Prochek in Tachov and let him know you have completed the task. This will lead to the follow-up quest Battle of the Frogs and Mice.

This finishes Mice side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

I accidentally spoke with the Inkeeper of Prochek first. I didn’t do the mission mice yet but I can’t start Frog first anymore I guess. So what should I do? Because now I will miss out on the Frog mission.
