Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Speak to Randvi Bugged? Fix

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (ACV) you may encounter what seems like a bug where you can’t speak to Randvi anymore. There are some seemingly bugged objectives in the game that only say Speak to Randvi or Speak to Randvi about Hordafylke, but she doesn’t have any quest dialogues for you. What you are experiencing is probably not a bug at all, just some confusing game design.

How to fix Speak to Randvi not working Bug:

When you get objective ‘Speak to Randvi’ or ‘Talk with Randvi’ and she doesn’t have any quest dialogues, it means you must interact with the Alliance Map and pledge to a region. It’s just a poorly worded objective and bad game design. Had the developers called the objective “Pledge to region at Alliance Map” it would have prevented a lot of confusion. Scroll over the map and check if you can pledge to any region. Do so and the next objective should trigger and you can continue the story normally. Also make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the Alliance Map (south of England). There are 2 secret regions there: Vinland & Norway. You might need to pledge to those to advance. This can be very confusing because for all of the game you pledge to regions in England but during 2 missions you suddenly have to pledge to Norway and America/Vinland (which to make things worse, some Ubisoft developer thought are south of England on the world map). So just poor game design, not a bug. Case closed.

There are two points in the game where this is most confusing and can seem like ‘Speak to Randvi’ is bugged, but it’s not:

  • After the Wincestre Story Arc, a quest called “Where Legends Are Born” will start. Here you talk to Sigurd and he wants to go back to Norway with you. Sigurd asks you to “Speak to Randvi about Hordafylke“. The quest marker will be on Randvi but talking to her does nothing. Talking to Sigurd at the docks won’t let you leave for Norway either. The fix is to look at the Alliance Map and scroll south of England to pledge to Norway, which is a bit hidden.
  • On the quest called “In a Strange Land“, Hytham will tell you to speak to Randvi to leave for Vinland (America) and hunt down someone called Gorm. Same issue here, talking to Randvi doesn’t do anything. Instead, you must pledge to Vinland which is south of England on the Alliance Map. After this the quest will continue.

If this doesn’t solve your problem, try fast traveling to another map (Norway or Asgard) or change gender or reload a previous save game.

    • Try Fast Travel to Norway. I had the map bug out entirely for me several times, where the camera would point under the table (instead of the topdown view above the table). Then I couldn’t interact with anything on the map. Fast travel to Norway fixed that for me.

    • I fix the issue by waiting until ramvi is in the outside of the big structure and then proced to complete the valka quest when she arrived. Valka is supossed to encounter ramvi on the outside. Once you reach valka house she will give you a mision to find 5 flowers near by. Drank the potion and everiting fixed once you return from asgard. You can drink the potion again. So if it happend again with other mission i will try the same

    • Same problem here, with “ask Randvi about Wincestre”. (PC Windows10)
      Try the following, it worked for me(!):
      press with your mouse in the Wincestre area and while doing so, move the map to the right. Maybe you have to do it several times. At a certain point you will hear that the discussion starts about visiting Wincestre and you can continue the game.
      This is possibly caused by a misalignment of the map overlay and the mouse response area. I use a ultrawide screen (Samsung 49″), so that may cause the problem.
      I discovered this by hovering over the not yet completed scires; they only lit up with the cursor on the most right side of each area.

    • This thread helped me fix my issue! I could not pledge Wincestre and was all out of quests and other areas to pledge. Edward’s comment about possible overlay issues and using extra wide monitor made me try something. I was using eyefinity with 3 monitors at 5760×1080. I turned off eyefinity to one monitor only, tried again and it worked first time. I was able to pledge Wincestre, save the game, turn eyefinity back on and continue the story.

    • Same problem here, i can’t speak to randvi to pledge to wincestre. SOLUTION: go to your letter box in eivor’s room and read hytham’s letter.

    • I have tried many fixes its a joke and watched alot of stuff tried knocking her down the path nothing works

  3. I can’t even fast travel to Norway. It’s literally supposed to be my first time using the Alliance Map. Valka is also bugged out presumably waiting for Randvi. I can’t interact with any NPC in the village.

    • Yeah same and I have reloaded the game from save points and been back to Norway.Killed gorm nothing its a joke another ac game like the last one bugged.They hire so called games people to detect bugs lol were they off there faces or what????

  5. Hey guys, is anyone getting hang-ups on The Ragnar’s Son’s quest. It glitched, threw a big ass boat in the horse groupings, and glitched Ivor and the Mercian Kings’ son in Repton when they’re supposed to be by the river by the horses? I really don’t want to lose the 20 hours I put into Valhalla already. I even completed the Asgard vision at plvl 42 when 90 was the recommended plvl. Any guesses ya’ll. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game… nothing, restart X-box, go to menu screen then back to save. This is nuts.

  6. Sounds like what happens for me in asgard at the binding fate quest says talk to try witch I can do but after that convo they teleports back and from there I cannot move just stand there until I restart the game so annoying

  7. I can’t reach Valka’s hut. I go inside the hut and nothing happened. I don’t know what to do. I can’t continue.

    • Have you “built” the hut and has Valka arrived at your settlement? The hut will be there already when she arrives but you still need to interact with the signpost in front of her hut and spend supplies/materials to built it into the proper Seer’s hut. Then Valka should give you a quest when talking to her (she wants you to collect some thistles flowers for a potion).

    • Ye om way past that its the conversation with tyr right before what i suspect is the boss Battle with fenrir due to that it is chapter 5 of asgard mission

  8. I built the barracks and shipyard but now I can’t speak to the merchants. They don’t habe a dialogue option for some reason.

  9. I am Stuck as well, can’t Talk to Randvi, can’t access map, can’t get the seer to her house, can’t talk to PC’s. Playing on PS4 Pro, bought the Ultimate Edition. When is Ubisoft going to fix these bugs?

Randvi Romance option is gone I said not right now and it was there for me tell her later after Sigurd and her were done but now it’s gone and the quest is gone and Sigurd got taken and nothing had come up for his quest and idk I’m stuck there quest or npc for me to taken to need massive patch update

  11. hey guys i need ur help pls i already finished the story mode game and i killed the 45 order i got thor hammer and excalibur sword also my power 350 and i got 4 bar full adrenaline but stilll i cant remove odin spear whyyyyy ????? plss any help

  12. I completed the story for Valhalla and when I am in Raventhorpe I cannot talk to anyone who has a mission or the trader to make silver or turn in medallions for the order. How do I fix this? I have restarted my game and traveled to Norway and Vinland and back to try to get it to work!

  13. Hey guys, I’ve got the same Problem as some of you.

    I Leveled up my village to Level 3 without following the Main quest. Now valka arrived and as soon as I Start the quest to help her carrying her stuff to her tent, she stops in front of the mainbuilding where the pathways forks in two directions.

    The next Problem is, that Sigurd just left the village and told me to speak to randvi for growing some allience, but I can’t talk to her. (travelling to norway and back did not work for me)

    • same with me. this is absurd. i did all that i could before the main quest in odyssey and origins and there was no problems. i guess ubi took AC:V out of steam because it would be mostly negative by now…

  14. It says speak to Randvi about Wincestre and she doesn’t say anything about it and I don’t see it on the map does anyone else have this problem?

  15. i noticed if you build her tent into a building before her entry into the village it glitches. At the for your supposed to be greeted by Randvi who talks to the seer then you go from there. If you upgraded her building too soon, thats when it glitched for me.

    • Got got a even worse bugg my character keeps repeating the f$%&#*& dialog from the mission helping the children in camp with the wolf at the hunters house my character keeps repeating it every 2 min non stop for 3 days ive turned my ps5 off removed the disc nothing is helping im thinking about driving to ubisoft and throwing this mother fu#$%& right thru the headquarters front window the biggest game in the history of games this was a rushed game put out to take advantage of the ps5 launch they should offer refunds to everyone affected this is not the ubi I started gaming with 20+ YEARS AGO sad sad sad

  17. My alliance map doesn’t even have that Hordafylke on it and I can’t progress the story. I’m not going to be forced to restart my whole progress.

  19. Anyone else stuck on the alliance for Jorvik for closing the vault. We completed the quest and got the arm band but it never prompted us to speak to randvi or even said we finished the quest.

  20. I spoke to Hytham and he told me to go to Randvi regarding the Grom storyline, but when I go to the alliance map Vinland isn’t below it, is this because I already pledged to Oxenefordscire?

  21. And one of my missions it told me to follow them they literally jumped off their horse and I’m stuck at that mission they will not leave me back to the camp or anyting

  22. Stuck on Lincolnshire at what I think is the last part and can’t do anything else I found who the ealdorman and can’t interact at all. No marker on map either.

    • Valka has dialogue with Gunner so you have to wait for her to finish talking to him before moving on. I think maybe that’s it but not sure.

  27. Hello. I have a problem with quest sword-Rain in ancaster, when i choose the land on Alliance map game freeze after return to roam Mode, i cannot move but quest is activated. Pls help any one have thiss issue.

  28. I’m having the issue with Wincestre. I spoke with Haytham and he is telling me to speak to Randvi about Wincestre in the “More Intel” quest. When I speak with her, it gives me no options to discuss Wincestre.
    Also, Wincestre is found nowhere on my Alliance Map! I am extremely frustrated.

  29. I am having a problem with Taken for granted. Eivør says wait here then later says we can go, but she says it multiple times right now Randvi is waiting at the bottom of the river! It’s so bad I have stopped and gone to a previous load before this quest, and hopefully it will give me the option further into the game . Hoping glitch will be fixed by then. The

  31. Wel i am trying to get the spear of Odin but whern i go to pull it my adrenaline spikes and it won’t pull out and that’s it and when I go to reload the game the spear disappears and it not in my inventory could someone help me please

  34. Ok so I need help. I have done all the alliances But suthsexe I save that for last because I thought I need all of them first. I have even done Vinland. I did the first part of suthsexe we’re you do the big fight and that was it no more adjectives have loaded for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times and loaded my last auto save that was available. When at the alliance map I cannot click of suthsexe. Therefore I cannot beat the game. Can anyone help. Ps have 90 hours in the game

  35. As soon as I click pledge for Lincolnshire I get stuck cant move cant open map or anything. Nice to see ubisoft hasnt improved at all still releasing completely broken games smh never again

I dont have Norway on alliance map i finish completely alll other regions on the map and not give me to find father and no give me continue main story i kill any of order less father because he is not discover which is strange and i dont have dialog with randvi i dont know what kind of glitch is that

  37. So beautiful game (visually). So much potential. So poor game design. So poor game mechanics…

    I have the “speak with Randvi” quest to start the Vinland arc since the past 3 regions I conquered in England. I thought maybe if I keep conquering, eventually, it’s gonna trigger a dialogue option. I even cleared the “Go to Grantebridge with Randvi” quest in case this was the trigger for the Vinland arc. Now I learn I just had to scroll further on the pledge map… Geeze, how poorly can this game be designed!

    I am currently forcing myself to finish the game because I played so much Odyssey and I really loved it and I just want to be able to get the full experience to give an honest and objective comparison between the two games and not just kill my controller out of frustration sometimes… But the more I progress, the more it confirms that I am slowly being ripped of some time I could use way better! It’s like they took some annoyances that were already there in Odyssey, but minor and that we could live with, and they made it even worse.
