Assassin’s Creed Valhalla All Fish Locations

November 13, 2020 by FranciRoosters 50 Comments

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (ACV) has 19 Fish Locations. Getting all 19 Fish unlocks the Good Catch! trophy or achievement. This guide shows where to find all Fish Locations.

You can keep track of what you’ve fished in the Inventory Bag of your Inventory Menu. Scroll down to Trade Goods and the first entries you see are your fish.

First you need to build the Fishing Hut in your Settlement. After doing so, a fishing rod will appear in your Inventory Wheel. Anytime you’re near a body of water (lake, pond, river, sea), you can equip it by pressing  on your D-Pad and then move your right analog stick to the fishing rod. Then, cast a line into the water and when your controller vibrates, press :r2: / :rt: to hook your catch and use your left stick to steer and pull it towards you. If the line turns red, let go of :r2: / :rt: and the analog stick until the red flash disappears otherwise your catch might unhook itself. In order to unlock the Good Catch trophy / achievement you need to use your fishing rod. Using explosives or arrows on fish won’t count.

When possible, we’ve added more than one location of a fish type, so you can just rotate between them if necessary. For the trophy / achievement just any size is enough.

Here’s a few tips and tricks on how to effectively fish:

  1. There’s more fish when the water gets deeper. As a result, it’s better to fish from a wooden boat. When this is not possible, fishing from the shore is enough. Just prioritize fishing from boats when possible.
  2. Use your Odin’s Sight ( :r3: / :rt: )  to see how many fish there are at a fishing point. Your Odin’s Sight is also useful to see when a fish is getting closer to your hook.
  3. Meditate on the boat or on the coast if fish are not spawning at a given location.
  4. Using fast-travel can sometimes reveal different fish types.

The fish EVERYWHERE aren’t spawning in any reasonable number … in the sizes we need, anyway : After two hours of screwing around I’ve got 38 Flatfish (small), 28 Flatfish (regular)

No matter where I go the story is always the same – few or *no* fish

WHO KNEW THAT THE WATERS OF ENGLAND WERE SO OVERFISHED IN THE VIKING TIMES ???

If you fast travel to a spot to fish and your boat goes with you, it’ll disrupt the fish spawn. Try fast traveling to spots other than harbor then travel by horse. Worked for me in Norway.

FYI: Ubisoft knows about the fishes not spawning or disappearing on the coasts. It’s a bug that’s on their list.

Fish are still buggy the ones on the coasts are and are not spawning. Do you have to catch a fish of each size as well as each kind?

Bream wasn’t spawning for me at Folcanstan. I played Orlog and the fish appeared for a very short while. I then went idle and had the raven on my shoulder while the camera spun. When I came out of that the fish had appeared again, allowing me to catch a bream and get the trophy.

Tip for anyone still not able to find fish spawn in coasts : go to the nearest area where a river meets that area of the ocean, you’ll find them spawn there. For example, I couldn’t get Flatfish to spawn in the coast of Hamtunscire. So I went to the meeting point of the river and the ocean right at Humtun Blockade and found them spawn there. Good luck finding other fish like this!

I only had bream left for the Good Catch trophy, but it just wouldn’t spawn for me at the location shown by PowerPyx. I watched YouTube videos and they also told me to go to the same location, but they’d never spawn for me even after the 1.1.0 update.

What I did was to fast travel to the Folcanstan dock with my longship. As others have said, this wouldn’t spawn any fish because of the longship being there. Immediately after I fast-travelled there, I looked for a small wooden boat and took it to the spot marked by PowerPyx. I then just stood on the boat with the fishing line ready in my hands. It must have been a good 20 mins to 30 mins wait until I could see a fish jump out of the water swimming around. I immediately threw my fish line in and pulled it out. Got a Sturgeon. Then when I put the line back in, the fish all vanished. So waited on the boat at the exact same spot for another 20 mins, and then heard the fish jumping again. This time I threw the fish line in and got my bream and my trophy. Got my platinum with that, thanks to PowerPyx!

I was having an issue with this achievement – watched videos on YT on locations, tried entering and exiting the animus, reloading saves, meditating to no avail.

I’ve managed to get the achievement to pop by fast travelling to the dock north east of Rouecistre Fortress in Cent, leaving the long boat there. Fast travelled to the point west of Beamasfield and riding down to Folcanstan. Once I got there all the fish had spawned permanently, I managed to catch the bream fish on the beach about 116m from the store seller.

You can catch every single fish that you’re looking for all within 15 minutes if you just fish in Asgard. Go to the island where you fight friend rare all the way on the western side do you want to see the fish when you hit our three but trust me they’re there. You just have to wait like eight minutes then the each pop-up one after the next happy fishing!
