Search the Ruins to Find a Way Underground is an objective of The Sea of Sands main quest in Horizon Forbidden West. It will give you a big search area in the desert and you’re supposed to find the entrance to the ruins.
The location is in the west of the search area, at a “?” question mark icon on the map that’s titled “Unknown Settlement”. It looks like a big temple building. Climb inside and you’ll get a cutscene that advances the story.

Once you find it, the objective will update to “Investigate the Flooded Ruin”. That’s all there is to finding the Underground Entrance in Horizon 2: Forbidden West (HZFW).
