Nioh 2 Imagawa Diehard Walkthrough

Imagawa Diehard is the 7th side mission in Nioh 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all areas of the Imagawa Diehard Side Quest.

Imagawa Diehard is unlocked when you complete The Hidden Monster of Okehazama Main Mission.

Prepare for a rematch

This mission is very short and straightforward. You only need to kill the 2 high ranked soldiers in the area to unlock the boss battle. One big axe guy with heavy armor standing under the tree on the right side, and one guy with a tall headpiece standing in front of the blocked-off fog wall. These enemies will have a short monologue once defeated and will stay dead even if you die yourself in between.

Here’s an easy method: First kill the archer on the tree with an arrow headshot. Then run up the path on the right where a big axe guy is standing under the tree. Now drop down the platform where the axe guy was standing to the area below where the ninjas are. Lure all the enemies after you and run back up to the tree. They will all follow you and drop down the tree platform as well. When they do, they are completely defenseless and you can attack the bunch of enemies with a combo. Keep running in circles, always back up the tree and dropping down the platform. Each time you drop down the platform, you wait for the other enemies to drop down after you and land some hits. This way it doesn’t take any skill to finish this otherwise difficult section.

Once both high-ranking enemies are defeated the gate leading to the boss of this mission will open.

Imagawa Yoshimoto will act exactly as he did in the main mission before. Dodge his arrows for a punish-window and always wait for a follow-up of his long-range attacks. Once you defeat him the mission will succeed.
