Nioh 2 Yaksha Returns Walkthrough

March 15, 2020 by DK Leave a Comment

Yaksha Returns is the 52nd side mission in Nioh 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all areas of Yaksha Returns Side Quest.

Yaksha Returns is unlocked when you complete Cherry Blossom Viewing in Daigo Main Mission and exhausted the dialogues with the characters in the interim.

Recommended Level: 104
Region: DREAM
Requirement: Finish Cherry Blossom Viewing in Daigo, Earn the Valuable “Cherry Blossom Chapbook”, Speak with Azai Nagamasa in the Interim
Reward: Azai Ichimonji, Kohoku Master’s Waistguard, Kohoku Master’s Gauntlets, Kohoku Master’s Greaves

Unlock Requirements – Where to find Cherry Blossom Chapbook & speak with Azai Nagamasa

In order to unlock the Cherry Blossom Chapbook, all you need to do is finish sub mission The Scented Letter. It’s a simple reward just for finishing the sub mission, not an item you collect in the game world.

To speak with Azai Nagamasa, you must visit the Interim (gray icon bottom left corner of world map). Exhaust all dialogues with the NPCs here. If he isn’t there, finish all other available sub missions first and check again.

Azai Nagamasa (2nd Encounter) Boss Fight

This mission is a single boss fight against Azai Nagamasa who you met before in Main Mission Bird In A Cage.

The standard tactic of running to the side, letting him miss a combo, and then counter-attacking still works. During the entire fight, always run or walk to the right side. Start running when he attacks, let him miss, then counter-attack with a few hits. Mid-Stance :triangle: attacks with the spear work really well as they have good reach to poke him from a distance. Repeat the tactic for the entire fight.

Luckily, this boss does the least damage of any boss so far. You can also block his hits, they don’t drain much of your Ki at all, which makes it a good alternative to running sideways and dodging. If you are running but notice you’re within the reach of his next strike, just hold :l1: to block it and you’ll be fine.

This finishes Yaksha Returns mission in Nioh 2.
