Invasion of Privacy is unlocked when you complete main mission The Impending Storm.

Mission Info: A Maliwan dickbag has stolen Ava’s diary and is reading it to his troops. Hunt him down before he gets to the juicy stuff.

Go to Athenas
As soon as you get this mission Fast Travel to Athenas.
Retrieve stuff: 0/2
As soon as you land this will be your objective. Head to the waypoint shortly ahead. Once you get into the small area in the waypoint with the vending machines you will get a call from an angry Ava. She will let you know that’s her stuff at the waypoint markers on the ground:
Pick up either the Bonai Tree or the Ancient Instrument for this step.
Retrieve stuff: 1/2
Pick up the remaining item on the floor.
Retrieve more of Ava’s stuff: 0/3
Head forward in the path to the next waypoint. At the next waypoint there will be three items “Ava’s stuff”:
Pick up either the Ultra Elite Pro Mega S+ Controller, A Bowl for Ava’s Pet or the Latest Video Game console to complete this portion. NOTE – The latest videogame console is tricky to get the pickup icon to come up, either stand right over it or hop onto the box its leaning against to try and get a better angle.
Retrieve more of Ava’s stuff: 1/3
Pick up one of the remaining two items of Ava’s. NOTE – The latest videogame console is tricky to get the pickup icon to come up, either stand right over it or hop onto the box its leaning against to try and get a better angle.
Retrieve more of Ava’s stuff: 2/3
Pick up the final remaining piece of Ava’s stuff. NOTE – The latest videogame console is tricky to get the pickup icon to come up, either stand right over it or hop onto the box its leaning against to try and get a better angle.
Get diary
Head to the next waypoint ahead. Once you get to the Windward Plaza you will see the waypoint on a safe in the grass:
Open it up to find it missing, Private Deans took it and will start revealing Ava’s feelings.
Find Beans
Once you get to the next waypoint you won’t find Beans location right away. Instead, on the couch to the side you will find a piece of Ava’s diary laying on the cushion.
Pick up the piece of diary.
Seriously, find Beans
Proceed forward to the next waypoint ahead. At the waypoint you won’t locate Beans here either but instead look for the two tables with pink umbrellas. There is another page on one of these tables:
Collect this page also.
Not kidding, find Beans, it’s super important
Once again, head to the next waypoint. It will lead you to the distillery where you will find, that’s right, another diary page and not actually Bean’s location. The diary page is on a table for you to collect:
Walk over and pick up the diary page.
Kill Beans
Ava is pissed, head to the next waypoint in the cemetery. When you get there it’s not a diary page waiting for you but instead Private Beans and a Maliwan army. Defeat the enemies in the area to make the fight against Beans a little easier. Once you get rid of the backup focus on Beans, he fights a lot like the first NOG boss. Once you take him out he will lootsplode and you can continue the mission.
Find hide-a-key
Head to the waypoint to find the hide-a-key Ava planted earlier:
Interact with this rock to open it and reveal the key so you can pick it up.
Open weapons cache
Head to the waypoint which is down behind this building:
Make your way to the weapon chest below, open it up and grab your loot.
Return to Sanctuary
As soon as you open the chest you are free to fast travel back to Sanctuary.
Go to Ava’s room
As soon as you land make your way to Ava’s room marked by the waypoint.
Return Ava’s belongings: 0/5
Once in her room Ava will request you return all of her items. Go around her room and place her items where the green silhouettes are:
Return Ava’s belongings: 1/5
Place the second item in her room.
Return Ava’s belongings: 2/5
Place the third item in her room.
Return Ava’s belongings: 3/5
Place the fourth item in her room.
Return Ava’s belongings: 4/5
Place the final item in room.
Talk to Ava
Walk over to Ava and use your action button to speak to Ava where she will thank you and end the mission.
This finishes Invasion of Privacy side mission in Borderlands 3.
