Borderlands 3 Blood Drive Walkthrough

Blood Drive is the 17th main story mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Blood Drive Main Quest.

Blood Drive is unlocked when you complete Cold as the Grave.

Mission Info: The Calypsos have kidnapped Tannis and are going to execute her for the entertainment of their followers for an Eridium pledge drive! Unless you can stop them, they’ll use that Eridium to charge the Pandora Vault Key! Also, Tannis will die, which is also bad, so maybe you should stop them.

Starting Location: Blood Drive

Return to The Droughts on Pandora

First things first, head down to The Droughts – Highway fast travel point, and you’ll get a short re-introduction to Pandora.

Go to Devil’s Razor

You’ll now have a location marked on the North side of the map.

Destroy Gate with Vehicle

The COV have blocked off the entrance with a large get, run through it with a vehicle, or just shoot it. You can then head through to the new area.

Go to Roland’s Rest

Head all the way over to the far West side of the map to get to Roland’s Rest.

Meet Vaughn

When you reach the town, head up and meet Vaughn.

Go to Splinterlands

Vaughn gives you a but of info about where Tannis is being held, so head over to the North part of the map to go to another new area, the Splinterlands.

Get Into Carnivora Festival

Grab a vehicle and head over to the marked location to find Carnivora Festival.

Drive onto Conveyor

Drive your vehicle onto the marked spot to give your vehicle up for offering.

Start Conveyor

Head up to the button on the platform to the right, and press it to send in your ride.

Go to Big Donny’s Chop Shop

They don’t like whatever you give them for an offering, so Vaughn suggests heading over and stealing someone elses gold car. You can warp back to the fast travel at the start of the area, then grab another vehicle to get over to the far South end of the map.

Find Big Donny

Head inside and you’ll have to fight your way through a bunch of bandits while heading towards the back of the area.

Kill Big Donny

Once you reach the back of the area and take out all enemies, Big Donny will summon a turret and come out to attack you himself. Take them both out.

Take Car Keys

Once he dies, Donny drops a key. Go grab it.

Use Crane Controls

Head up to the objective and use the controls to get the car down to the ground.

Drive Golden Chariot

Get into your new sweet ride.

Drive Chariot to Carnivora Gate

And take it back over to the Festival entrance.

Park Golden Chariot on Conveyor

Like before, put the vehicle on the marked spot on the conveyor.

Start Conveyor

Then hit the button on the platform to send it in. Head inside the mouth and go into the new area, Carnivora.

Enter Carnivora Gates

Head forward through the main gates and continue towards the objective. You’ll have to fight through a number of bandits once in side, so keep pressing forward. You’ll eventually reach a dead end, head into the elevator there and pull the lever to go down.

The next area is just crammed full of Tinks. Blast your way through them and keep going to the gates.  You’ll reach another elevator, head up there when you’re ready to go to the gates.

Interact with the gates at the front to enter the arena.

Catch up to Carnivora

Turns out Carnivora is actually a gigantic vehicle. Head forward immediately and get in your golden chariot (or a different vehicle at the nearby Catch-A-Ride if you wish) and chase after the tank.

Stall the Carnivora

Once you get near it, you’re going to have to do whatever you can to slow it down so you can get in to rescue Tannis.

Destroy Fuel Lines: 0/3

First objective is to blow up the 3 fuel lines on the outside of the tank. There are two right near the back left corner, and then a third on the back right corner.

Kill Supporting Crew

Some COV vehicles will now come out and start driving around the tank, take out the two that get marked one at a time on your map. If you have the hover wheels for either the cyclone or technical it can make this part easier, as it’s easier to shoot in hover mode.

Destroy Transmission

Back over to the tank itself, underneath close to the front will be a red highlighted part. Shoot that until it’s destroyed.

Clear Remaining Crew

Another couple vehicles will get dropped out of the tank, destroy those as well.

Destroy Main Tank

Head over to the back of the tank, and you will see a giant highlighted gas tank now, destroy that.

Board Carnivora

The container on the back will fall down, giving you a path to get inside the tank.

Find Tannis

Stop at the vending machines if you need, then head forward following the objectives.  You’ll be fighting your way through a very large number of enemies ahead so be ready. Once you clear out the first room, I’d suggest going around and looting for stuff, as there’s lots of countainers and a couple white chests to find if you want. When you’re ready to continue head out the hallway at the back, then interact with the marked valve in the next room and jump into the air stream to head upwards.

The next room with all the machinery will have more enemies to kill, and some stuff to loot on the bottom floor if you want to go down there.  In the next room you have to make your wall all the way to the top using the air vents or ladders, then take the catwalk that goes above the spinning machinery to continue.

Once you get to the last room before the boss, you’ll see a named enemy called The Tink Train. Take him out and anything else in the room to continue.

Choose Your Intro Music

Once you get up to the top of the area, you have to pick which entrance music you want for going into the area. Pick whichever of the three you wish, once you hit one of the buttons the elevator goes up.

Enter Arena

Head down the hallway and drop down to go to the boss room.

Destroy Agonizer 9000

Pain and Terror jump into a mech in the middle of the arena, and that’s what you’ll be spending your time fighting. This is largely an “avoid obstacles” boss, where they will do things such as make fire spit out of the floor and spin a saw blade around the arena. To damage the mech, you want to shoot any of the red boxes on the front of it, it’s eyes, or the big fuel tank on the back. Most of it’s attacks are easy to avoid. When it lights up the floors with red get off them as they’ll burn you. When it starts spinning around with the saw blade you can crouch or sprint and slide under it.

Once you get through the whole armor health bar, it will reveal a purple core in the center of the mech that will start shooting lasers at you. Start shooting this now to continually damage the boss the rest of the way.

Kill Pain/Terror

Now that the mech is destroyed, Pain and Terror are on the ground in the arena. Dispose of them however you feel and grab their loot.

Talk to Tannis

Now that Tannis is free, head over and speak to her to complete the mission and get your reward.

This finishes Blood Drive main mission in Borderlands 3. Now the next quest  Angels and Speed Demons becomes available.
