    • “My Name Is Earl”
    • “Bolt-Ons”

Introduction

Welcome to the Borderlands 3 Trophy Guide! You can expect a trophy list that is very similar to other Borderlands games – complete the story, all side missions, discover all locations, and finish all endgame modes. It’s a relatively straightforward way to platinum. There’s still free-roam after the story so you can mop up what you’re missing. Nothing is missable! You can go back to all locations and can still accept all unfinished side quests after the story. Because there are no difficulty-related or character-specific trophies you can play on what difficulty you want, and as whatever character you want. It doesn’t matter if you pick Cooperation or Coopetition mode at the start of the game and you can play on easy if you prefer. Just play the game how you want, none of the trophies force you to play a certain way.

Step 1: Finish the Story (Any Difficulty) & Do any Side Missions you see

The first step is really simple. Play through the story any way you see fit.

Nothing is missable! All quests, collectibles etc. can still be done after the story in free-roam. It doesn’t matter what character you choose, as there are no character-specific trophies this time. There are also no difficulty-related trophies so you can play on Easy if you like.

Along the way you should already work on side missions. The rare randomly spawning “Kill Quests” from Sanctuary’s Notice Board are NOT needed for the trophy and can be ignored. You must finish all side missions for trophy “Getting A Little On The Side” (except random Kill Quests). A lot of other things will come naturally along the way, so don’t even worry about it for now, just do story and any side missions you run into.

Here are lists of all main and side missions including walkthroughs and locations for every single mission in the game:

  • Borderlands 3 – All Main Missions (Chronological Story Order)
  • Borderlands 3 – All Side Missions (by Starting Area)

Step 2: Finish all remaining Side Missions

Clean up any side missions you didn’t do during the story. For a complete list of all Side Missions, their Locations and Walkthroughs for each please refer to the Borderlands 3 Side Missions Walkthrough.

The randomly spawning kill quests from the Sanctuary Notice Board are NOT needed and can be ignored.

Step 3: Collectibles & Discover All Locations

The following types of collectibles are needed for platinum:

  • Eridian Writings (Slabs)
  • Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts (Crew Challenge)
  • Zero’s Targets of Opportunity (Crew Challenge)
  • Named Locations

Because you can’t actually decipher the Eridian Writings until the end of the story, it’s of no use to look for them any sooner.

Nothing in the game is missable, you can go back everywhere after the story. The Eridian Writings are marked by blue icons and show up when uncovering the map part where they are. Legendary Hunts and Targets of Opportunity are marked by green icons on the map when going near them. All other Crew Challenges can be skipped as they’re not relevant for platinum! Because you must find all Named Locations in the game (all map areas), you will most likely find all of these collectibles along the way. So combine the collectibles / challenges with uncovering all maps for their locations.

Step 4: Circles of Slaughter & Proving Grounds

Circles of Slaughter and Proving Grounds are endgame activities. The Circles of Slaughter are 5 rounds consisting of multiple waves of enemies. Kill them all. The Proving Grounds are like mini dungeons with a boss at the end. If you have trouble solo, you can use the Matchmaking function to be paired up with other players (Pause Menu > Social > Matchmaking).

  • Circles of Slaughter Locations
  • Proving Grounds Locations

Step 5: Miscellaneous

The only thing you might be missing at this point is one of the miscellaneous trophies such as completing the shooting range with a perfect score or killing two enemies simultaneously with a sticky grenade. If you have anything left, it can very quickly be obtained now. Then the Borderlands 3 platinum is yours, congratulations!

Warning for Xbox One Players: Only on Xbox One the achievement “Ultimate Vault Hunter” (120G) is unobtainable for everyone in version 1.00 – 1.02. This was FIXED/PATCHED in version 1.03 (as of October 02, 2019). So make sure you update your game! It’s for getting all other achievements, similar to PS4’s platinum. It doesn’t unlock after getting the other achievements if you’re not on version 1.03 or above. On PS4 the platinum unlocks fine – this bug only concerns Xbox One. On PS4 the platinum unlocks correctly.

Borderlands 3 Trophy Guide

  • DLC #1: Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Ultimate Vault Hunter
Unlock all Borderlands® 3 Trophies.
Earn all other trophies in Borderlands 3 to unlock Platinum (DLC not required)!

*Bugged on Xbox One Only – For all Xbox One Players there is an achievement called “Ultimate Vault Hunter” (120G) equivalent to PS4’s Platinum. Only on Xbox One this is completely unobtainable for everyone in version 1.00 – 1.02. This was patched in version 1.03 (as of October 02, 2019) so make sure you update your game! It unlocks fine on PS4, no issues there. But if you’re on Xbox One, make sure you have updated your game before unlocking the final achievement*

You Got Skills
Reach level 2.
See trophy “Biggest Badass In The Borderlands”.
Star Bound
Reach level 10.
See trophy “Biggest Badass In The Borderlands”.
Vaulting Your Way To The Top
Reach level 25.
See trophy “Biggest Badass In The Borderlands”.
Biggest Badass In The Borderlands
Reach level 50.
Level 50 is the highest level on the first playthrough (you can level up even further in New Game+ also known as “True Vault Hunter” difficulty).

First, complete the main story. Then mop up all your missing Side Quests and do the remaining endgame activities including all Circles of Slaughter, Eridian Proving Grounds, Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts, Zero’s Targets of Opportunity. Level 50 is going to be one of your last trophies. If you’re still missing XP you can just keep farming Circles of Slaughter after the story or you can move on to New Game+ to get the remaining XP.

Bolt-Ons
Unlock 10 Character Heads or Skins.
*Bugged Trophy – it’s recommended to save up on 10 skins/heads first and put them into storage instead of redeeming them. Before redeeming 10 skins, make a backup save (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Copy to USB / PS+ Cloud). If the trophy doesn’t pop after 10 skins, you can copy back your save and duplicate them to a 2nd PSN account of yours or send them to a friend, then make a brand new character and send them back to your inbox. Redeem the skins on the brand new character as soon as the game starts to see if it pops the trophy, this way you don’t have to replay anything. You can send and receive items under Pause Menu > Social > Mail.

You gain new Head or Skins from the following:

  • Random Enemy Drops: If you’re lucky you can get this as a random drop from enemies. After collecting it press :x: on this item in inventory to unlock the skin.
  • Moxxi’s Slot Machine: On your space ship “Sanctuary” go to Moxxi’s bar and play at the slot machines that can unlock customization items.
  • Buy from Crazy Earl: This Vendor is found on your space ship “Sanctuary” in the cargo hold (bottom floor of space ship). He sells customization items in exchange for Eridium.

On your path to level 50 you are guaranteed to find way more than 10 customization items from random drops, just make sure you pick them up when you see them.

After obtaining a head or skin you must press :x: on it in the inventory to redeem it so that it counts for this trophy (just finding it isn’t enough, has to be redeemed).

Mechani-Cool
Unlock 10 Vehicle Parts via hijacking.
You unlock your first vehicle during the 3rd main mission “Cult Following”, cannot be missed. Afterward, you can unlock new vehicle parts by stealing vehicles from enemies and driving them back to a “Catch-a-Ride” Vehicle Station. Only new vehicle parts count towards the trophy. You can tell when a vehicle has a new part when it’s equipped with a different weapon or looks different than the ones you got.

So just drive around the different planets (ideally after the story when you have access to all areas) and whenever you see a vehicle with new attachments, enter it and drive it back to the nearest vehicle station, repeat until the trophy is unlocked. In the early game it won’t be possible as you don’t have enough vehicle variations available.

Another way is to collect the vehicles marked in purple color on some maps, those are special and give you new unique parts. You can also get multiple new parts from a single vehicle.

Tips Appreciated
Tip Moxxi.

Moxxi is found on your space ship “Sanctuary”, at Moxxi’s Bar where the slot machines are.

On the counter of her bar is a tip jar. Simply put $100 into it by pressing :square: . The tip jar can be a bit hard to see at first, it’s in the middle of the bar counter where Moxxi is standing.

I Hope You Didn’t Tea-bag
Win a duel.
This can be done in local co-op (splitscreen) or online co-op. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing in Cooperation or Coopetition mode.

Walk up to another player > press :square: to trade > place item to give to other player > Player 1 (who placed item) selects “Duel” in Offering Tab > Player 2 also selects “Duel” in Offering Tab.
Now both players fight to their death for the item. Whoever kills the other earns the trophy.

If you are playing Splitscreen: Boot the game with your main account, click Play and Splitscreen. Then press the PS Button on your second controller and create a temporary Guest Account, press X to join as second player. Then load up the game and let the guest player create a character.

If you are playing online: Join someone through matchmaking or join a friend via the “Social” tab in the pause menu.

Stay Away From The Light
Revive another player.
This can be done in local co-op (splitscreen) or online co-op. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing in Cooperation or Coopetition mode.

Simply walk up to another player after they have been downed and revive them. Be quick or else the player will bleed out and respawn.

Gun Pals!
Send an item to a friend.
*Requires Internet Connection*

Go to Pause Menu (Options-Button) > Social > 3 x :r1: to look at “Mail” tab > :square: to Send Mail > :x: to Choose Item > :x: to Choose Friend > :x: to Confirm Sending Mail.

This unlocks the trophy. If you don’t have anyone on your friends list you can create a second account and add yourself.

Dropping Loads
Win a live grenade at a Slot Machine.

This can be done on board of your space ship “Sanctuary”. Go to Moxxi’s bar, there are 4 Slot Machines in there.

You can spend money on them and one of the “rewards” (or fails in this case) is a live grenade. Just keep spending money until you get a live grenade to pop out. Because this can take a while it’s recommended to accumulate at least 10,000 money before starting this. You can pull the lever of multiple slot machines at once to reduce the waiting times.

Tip: If you don’t want to waste your hard-earned credits, create a manual save game backup beforehand (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Copy to USB or PS+ Cloud). After you got this trophy, you can copy back the save to get your money back.

Good Against Remotes Is One Thing
Get a perfect score at the Firing Range on any difficulty.

The Firing Range is found in Sanctuary, your space ship. It’s marked on the map with a duck-icon.

On the left side of the Firing Range are two consoles. One explains the game rules, one starts the targets to appear. For this trophy you must only finish it in Normal Mode (hit 15 Targets in 20 Seconds). If you miss a target you need to let it run out and start over.

Easiest Way to Get this: Do it in Co-Op! Only the person who starts the firing range will get the trophy, but with 4 people the others can stand inside the firing range and shoot the targets from different angles. This makes it a lot easier as all your co-op partners can help shooting the targets. If you have a friend to help out, then don’t bother with it solo.

If you want to do it solo: Wait until after the story when you have some insanely overpowered weapons. Quick-firing shotguns or precise semi-automatic weapons can all work well. With Moze it’s easiest as her green skill tree greatly increases magazine size with a high chance of not consuming ammo every few shots, plus magazines recharging automatically while you shoot. It’s possible with all chars solo but if you have trouble just get a co-op partner to help out.

My Name Is Earl
Buy 20 cosmetic items from Crazy Earl.
*Bugged Trophy – before buying your 20 cosmetics, save up on enough Eridium and make a backup save (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > copy to USB or PS+ Cloud). If the trophy doesn’t pop, uninstall the game, reinstall it, copy back your save, try buying 20 again. If it doesn’t help you must start a new character and replay the game*

Crazy Earl is the vendor on board of your space ship “Sanctuary”. He’s found in the cargo hold, which is the bottom floor of the space ship. He sells you cosmectics in exchange for Eridium.

This Eridium is a second sort of “bonus currency” that’s used for buying cosmetics and gambling at Eridium Slot Machines or buying items from the machine next to Crazy Earl. Of course for this we must spend it all on Crazy Earl’s inventory.

How to Get Eridium:

  • When you reach the first vault in Main Mission “The Rampager” you get a skill to knock open Eridium Crystals
  • From Purple Crystals: You can knock open Purple Crystals (they look like ore deposits) found around the different planets. They often appear on Pandora, you’ve probably seen plenty of them during earlier story missions and can no melee them open.
  • From Anointed Enemies: They start spawning after Main Mission “The Guns of Reliance” in Eden-6. After defeating an Anointed they become purple crystals you can melee open.
  • From Missions: You frequently get Eridium from Main- and Side Mission Rewards. Not much, but better than nothing.
  • Crew Challenges: Some Crew Challenges (Green Icons on Map) drop Eridium, especially Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts

Tip: If you don’t want to “waste” all your Eridium on this trophy, back up your save beforehand and restore it. PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Copy to USB / PS+. After the trophy pops just copy back your save.

Tales From The Eridian Slab
Decipher all of the Eridian Slabs.
*Glitched – if it doesn’t unlock after all 30 Slabs were found go scan the one in Tannis’s Infirmary in Sanctuary a few more times*

» Borderlands 3 – All Eridian Writing Slab Locations

Slaughterhouse 3
Complete all the Circles of Slaughter.
There are 3 Circles of Slaughter. They are their own hidden areas. In the Circles of Slaughter you must survive 5 rounds of multiple waves of enemies. Kill them all to make it count. You must complete all 5 rounds in all 3 different Circles of Slaughter. This can either be done solo or through matchmaking. Once in the Circle of Slaughter, there will be a quest giver there. Accept the quest to start the Circle.

If you prefer to do it in co-op, make sure your game is set to “Cooperation” mode (press gear icon in top right corner of title screen). Then go to Pause Menu > Social > Matchmaking > Circle of Slaughter. However, it will make you join a random Circle of Slaughter. If it’s not the one you need, quit out and search again or just go the location of it and do it with friends or solo.

Another way to play co-op is to visit the Circle of Slaughter you need > go to Pause Menu > Social > :triangle: Edit Group > :right: click on gear Icon > Group Privacy = Public. This allows other players to join you when they select matchmaking in their game.

It also counts towards the trophy when you use matchmaking to join a Circle of Slaughter.

None of the Side Missions are missable, you can still do everything after the story in free roam. The randomly spawning kill quests from the Sanctuary Notice Board are not needed and can be ignored.

Refer to the Side Quest Guide linked above for the complete list of everything.

Here’s everything I had in my quest log when the trophy popped, but it’s worth noting that some quests (Circles of Slaughter, Trials) don’t get tracked in the log but I had done those too.

100 Proof
Clear all the Eridian Proving Grounds.
» Borderlands 3 – All Proving Grounds (Trials) Locations

(None of them are missable, you can still do everything after the story in free roam)

Got Big Game
Defeat all of Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts.
» Borderlands 3 – All Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunt Locations

(None of them are missable, you can still do everything after the story in free roam)

» Borderlands 3 – All Zero’s Targets of Opportunity Locations

(None of them are missable, you can still do everything after the story in free roam)

Barreled Right Over Them
Kill an enemy with an exploding barrel.
This is guaranteed to come naturally on your way to platinum without even trying. Shoot a barrel near an enemy and have him die from this. You can also melee or slide into barrels to fling them at enemies. It’s important that the barrel explosion is the final hit on the enemy, so weaken them up with some gunshots beforehand.
Feelin’ A Little Stabby
Kill an enemy, knifing them with a gun blade.
Since weapons in Borderlands 3 are randomly generated, you first need to get lucky to get one with a blade attachment. Luckily, these are fairly common and on your way to level 50 a lot of these will drop. In the inventory these weapons visibly have a blade attachment and come with the modifier “+% Melee Damage”. You can also get lucky to find these at weapon vending machines.

Once you got such a weapon, melee an enemy with it to death.

Stick It To ‘Em
Kill two or more enemies with a single sticky grenade.

First you need to get a Sticky Grenade mod. While these can drop randomly from enemies, a much more reliable way is to simply buy them from an “Ammo Dump” vending machine (green vending machines). Make sure the grenade mod has the word “Sticky” either in its name or under the damage/radius stats. If no such grenade is available, check back after a few minutes as the inventory is constantly changing.

Now the easiest way to kill two enemies is to head to Pandora, The Droughts. Round up some Level 1 Skags (found near fast travel station) and when a bunch are close together throw the sticky at them. It must kill both enemies simultaneously. You can also damage the enemies with other weapons beforehand to ensure the grenade will kill both at once.

On Fleek
Equip purple-rarity gear or better in every slot.
Purple is the 4th highest rarity in Borderlands 3. This will come naturally on your way to level 50 and purple gear can drop early in the game. It’s not that rare at all, in fact it drops left and right especially during the endgame when you are at higher levels.

The last equipment slot unlocks at the end of main mission “Cold as the Grave” (2nd Vault). You can’t get the trophy before then.

These are the gear colors:

  • Common = Grey
  • Uncommon = Green
  • Rare = Blue
  • Epic = Purple
  • Legendary = Orange
Rewards Card
Earn a Loyalty Package from each weapon manufacturer.
For this you simply need to do 100 kills with any weapons from each manufacturer. Then they will send you mail with a loyalty reward. It will show an onscreen prompt in the top left corner when you got new mail. Just receiving the mail is enough to make it count towards the trophy, you don’t even have to redeem it. But if you want, just know it can be redeemed under Pause Menu > Social > press :r1: to scroll to last tab “Mail” > hit :x: to receive the items (they are put in your inventory so make sure you got free space). Weapons are randomly generated, but you can simply buy them from the green vending machines and check that it’s a manufacturer you’re still missing. You can also receive mail rewards while offline.

List of Weapons Manufacturers:

  • Atlas
  • Cov
  • Dahl
  • Hyperian
  • Jakobs
  • Maliwan
  • Tediore
  • Torgue
  • Vladof

There are other manufacturers in the game but they only make other gear and not weapons. The above are the only ones that have weapons.

If you want to farm kills quickly, level up to 50 first and then run around Athenas. There are lots of low level enemies that die in 1 hit, which is faster than playing Circles of Slaughter if you don’t have great weapons.

Florida Man
Down yourself by grenade or explosion.
Self-explanatory. Kill yourself with a grenade, or shoot an explosive barrel and go down from that. Make sure you let enemies shoot you beforehand so you only have little health left, as one barrel explosion on its own isn’t enough to deplete your entire shields and health. This can be your first trophy in the game if you wish.
Stay Golden
Use a Golden Key.
*Requires Internet Connection*

Go to Pause Menu > Options > Social > SHiFT. If you’re not already signed up for SHiFT, create an account. This lets you redeem codes for special rewards.

Enter one of the following codes for a free gold key:

ZFKJ3-TT3BB-JTBJT-T3JJT-JWX9H

Afterward, press :r1: to switch to the Mail Tab and you will have received an in-game mail with gold keys, press :x: on the mail to get the keys.

You can use Golden Keys on the Golden Chest on board of your space ship “Sanctuary”. The Golden Chest is marked on the map, it’s close to your space ship’s fast travel station.

Damn, Gina
Obtain all Vault Rewards.
Automatic story-related trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks at the end of main mission “Footsteps of Giants” after going to the 4th vault.

*Small Chance to be bugged – there are several reports that this didn’t unlock for some players. The people who reported these issues were playing in co-op, so it’s possible that has something to do with the glitch but not proven. If this bugs for you and you were playing co-op, your best bet is to reinstall the game and replay it solo. You may also want to make a backup save at the start of mission “Footsteps of Giants” so if it doesn’t pop you can copy back the save, reinstall game, replay the mission*

    Hey guys,
got the game last-minute this time so I’m adding info as I go.

Most of the trophy info is filled in, I just need more time to work out the Roadmap. Trophies are relatively straightforward though.

I should have this finished in the next few days. If anyone has a tip not yet in the guide, feel free to leave a comment and you’ll be added to the credits.

    Enjoy Borderlands 3,

Hi going to start this tomorrow would you still estimate it’s a 3/10? And are there any grindy trophies?Never played a borderlands game so looking forward to hopefully getting platinum number 71!

So far it’s very easy even solo. In co-op it would be too easy almost. I hope there are some harder endgame hunts.
You can always overlevel if you get stuck or play on easy difficulty or get someone to help in co-op. Difficulty isn’t really an issue in Borderlands games.

Just to let you know, the damn gina trophy glitched for me. I’m not sure, but a likely reason was that I joined a game for one of the vault missions after they received the reward. I still got it afterwards but wasn’t actually there when the progression happened. Really frustrating. Going to have to play the whole game again before I can get the plat.

      That’s not good.
Anyone else here having issues with story trophies not unlocking (particularly during co-op)?

I’ve done everything solo and no problems. Could be a co-op tracking issue.

I was able to do the firing range trophy solo with the Infinity pistol. Can help a lot for people who can’t play online or can’t fund anyone to help.

Borderlands 2 forced you to complete all of the first levels of each challenge, and there was that one that wanted you to kill that random mini robot guy that had a super low chance to spawn from boxes. It wasn’t really hard, so not that this plat is easier, but it doesn’t look like there are any “grindy” trophies in this game like that one (other than Rewards Card, but even then, just barely since this would come naturally by using different weapons). If you’re getting the DLC season pass, level 50 will come naturally as well just by completing those post-game.

I could be wrong about this, but…I started as Zane, and the first gun that Claptrap gave me in the opener definitely did not have a knife blade attached. But, when I killed my first enemy using melee with Zane’s arm spikes/claws/whatever, the trophy popped for me during the first bandit. first. Not 100% sure this is intentional, but a neat workaround early on if others can confirm.

Only one player/profile can be doing the reviving or winning the duel, so each player/profile would have to do each action to get the respective trophy.

You CAN both earn trophies while in co-op, but you won’t simply get trophies for the other player’s actions because they did something. You both would have to satisfy the requirement of the trophy to earn it. Story/boss/mission related trophies might be the only exception, though I would assume the game does some level of checking to ensure you didn’t jump in at the end, fire one bullet to kill a boss, and then get credit for the entire mission to that point. Sometimes story-based trophies only work for the host player, unless you played the entire story line up to that point together, then you should both get the trophy.

You can also initiate a dual with a co-op friend by doing a melee on them (R3). They can then accept by holding down the touchpad. Might be useful for the I Hope You Didnt Tea Bag description and it’s easier to initiate than going the trade route.
Can’t wait to add this Platinum to my Borderlands Plat collection! Taking my time with it to enjoy the game though.

A tip on the firing range trophy: you can do this multiplayer, but only the person who hits the button to start the range gets the trophy. Even if you’re not the host, you can get the trophy by being the one who hits Square to start it. you can also have one or more people IN the firing range so each player has an ‘area’ of targets to cover

For the “Rewards Card” trophy, you need to do 100 kills with a single weapon of a brand, or you can use more than one different weapon of the same brand.

You can use any weapon of that brand, doesn’t have to be the same gun for 100 kills. If trying to farm this for whatever reason, you can always go back to the Droughts and just kill the super low level enemies for quick kills.

My only option is new character/save and send the stock pile of stuff over to redeem

My recommendation is to reinstall the game entirely and start a fresh character (back up your save game beforehand so you can go back). The good thing is you can send 20 skins to a second account (if you haven’t redeemed them yet) and then send them back to your main account. This way you could pop the trophy immediately without replaying the game.
If you redeemed all skins, maybe you have some friends who can save the ones they find and dupe them for you?

Finished the story last night, made a bunch of updates to Step 1 of Roadmap.
Key takeaway so far: do side missions as soon as they appear, for some reason most of them are “rare random spawns” in BL3 and just trigger at random times then they disappear and take a while to show up again. Really weird how they did this.

One thing I wonder is whether you can get gold keys offline. If SHiFT is the only way then that’s an online trophy too. So far I don’t think I got any of them offline.

The only oddity is that some side quests are random rare spawns – they will disappear and reappear at random times. They’re aren’t missable but it’s best to do them right when they pop up so you don’t end up waiting on them to trigger later.

Tales From The Eridian Slab – We have collected 34/30 slabs, no trophy.
Slaughterhouse 3 – Didn’t pop after completing the circle of slaughter
A Hundred Names For Sand – There are 77 locations in total for Pandora yet in galaxy View it shows 78. Looking at each individual map in Pandora show all locations as completed.
City Slicker – Same as above
Master Of All You Survey – Can’t get this because of the above.

      Hey, thanks for reporting these!

Someone else reported problems with 20 skins trophy, that may indeed be a bit glitchy but it seems to work fine for most players, so it may be a rare bug. Awaiting more reports from other players.
For Circle of Slaughter you must finish all different Circles of Slaughter Maps (survive all 5 rounds in each different Circle of Slaughter Map). Just surviving one of them isn’t enough. I think there are 3 total, I should have those later tonight.
For bugged locations, I’m currently uncovering all maps and going for those, so this is under investigation. I’ll add the locations soon. There are definitely a few that require very specific positioning.

      Hi,

I was the friend playing with Luke, we figured it out for the most part:
The remaining 2 locations and sidequests were the other 2 circles of slaughter located in Pandora and Promethea.

We figured out that touching the eridian symbol in sanctuary until you pop the trophy, though I can see that’s now been mentioned.

The only issue that still remains is the skins one, which popped for me fine but has still not popped for Luke, so will probably need to be gotten on a different character, seems like it could be an issue for FL4K

    • PowerPyx says

Thanks for the info Jakob. Please let me know how it goes on different character, if that fixes it.

I’ve now added a note that it’s better to hold on to the 20 skins than to redeem them. Then you can at least make a backup save and duplicate them to send them to a new character / after reinstalling the game. Better than having to replay much of the game.

Make a back up with one or two locations before finding the last on each planet so you don’t end up stuck like me. 100% locations all over and the trophies for all but Pandora and Master of all. Hey PP, I bring good news (I think).

I can’t categorically confirm, but some people on Xbox have unlocked “Getting a Little on the Side” (complete all side missions) from only doing the “standard” side missions without doing all random spawn kill-related side missions from Sanctuary (i.e. did 65/72 and unlocked it). They are absolutely certain they didn’t do all side-missions. Consensus seems to be that kill-related ones aren’t required, and are just for levelling/fun-factor. In fact, I’ve even seen a theory that they only spawn when a friend has done them in a viral-like manner, but I’m not convinced on this.

I’m no where nearing maxing the game (3rd day), but random spawn side missions are only ones which don’t add to my side missions. I noticed that every other side mission I’ve done gets added to my log but Kill quests don’t. Could all be a massive co-incidence but logic would dictate this is what it is. I apologise in advance if this gets proved wrong.

More people seem to be confirming that random spawn kill side-missions aren’t required, so I’m hopeful that’s the case. Makes the “finish all side-missions” description a bit inaccurate, but hey-ho. Ignore the 65/72 number I think that information is inaccurate. You need to do all “standard” side-missions including the Eridian Trials and Circles of slaughter, too.

There is a workaround on Xbox.
On Xbox it creates cloudsaves automatically when you quit the game. So your last backup save will be from the last time you quit the application. With that in mind, DISCONNECT from the internet if you get a game breaking progression glitch > quit game > delete the save in your Xbox > boot up the game and now it should download the backup save from cloud (which was from the last time you quit out of the game and were connected to the internet).

I really hope the next console generation supports USB saves across the board. Such a vital feature.

That user said he joined an ongoing story mission for one of the vaults and believed that’s why it bugged out. Have you played at co-op at any point? I did everything solo and worked fine. I think co-op can mess up some trophies.

This trophy also seems to be more glitched than others. Though I’ve heard of all sorts of trophies glitching but most are rare isolated incidents so it’s getting hard to say how many people are affected. The game seems to have some serious tracking issues (all statistics are broken too).

For people playing on Xbox One, “Ultimate Vault Hunter” (the 120G equivalent to platinum for getting all achievements) is unobtainable, and its glitched for everyone. I know PowerPyx is predominantly PlayStation, but you might want to add this to the roadmap or make a note of it, as Xbox people like myself will use this roadmap too. I certaintly would have waited to pick this up if I knew, and now its known it may be helpful to add!

It would appear the issue doesn’t relate to PS – on psnprofiles a few people have the Platinum now.

Was no need but appreciate it regardless.

Thanks for updating! Im sure it’ll get patched, as a general rule a platinum equivalent is bad news for Xbox users, they glitch all the time.Microsoft code achievements differently to trophies. Simple version is that Platinums always pop because the only requirement is that all others have been unlock (so I don’t think they CAN bug), on Xbox its an independent achievement so often doesn’t trigger the same way.

On Xbox One I’m not sure if deleting the game also deletes the save (on PS4 it can be backed up on USB beforehand).

Ok I found what I need, you have to complete The Circle of Slaughter and Proving Grounds to complete all side quest. Got the platinum.
Note* be careful playing co-op, if the other player is more fast than you and run to a transition-door before you get there, the place before the door will not be discover for you.

Baby dancer mission is probably glitched which can hinder trophy progression for side quests. I have completed the game and basically done everything in game but baby dancer quest is not spawning. It shows marker in the drought and sanctuary but when I travel there it disappears.

Have you sent a lot of items by mail all at once / in a short time frame? There is a cooldown after sending a lot of items, it will work later again.
If you never ever sent an item and it says this, then I’m not sure why the game gives this error. It’s a “feature” intended to slow down weapon duplication / save scumming. Just try on another day, probably a temporary bug with online servers.

@PowerPyx, so to clarify… there should be no problem with me getting platinum in one playthrough and clean up after the story as long as none of my trophies glitch? My main concern should be doing as many side missions as possible while playing through the main story. Do I have this correct? Thank you very much for all that you do. You just helped me get my 38th platinum with Hellblade by following your lorestone location video exactly. You’re the man!

@PowerPyx, I’m not sure if your comment for “My Name is Earl” is accurate. When you purchase a skin or head etc from Earl it goes straight into your New-U station, trinket collection, or room, not your inventory. So, I’m not sure how “holding on to them” or storing them would work since this trophy is specifically for buying 20 customizations from him, not having them or unlocking them. This might work for Bolt Ons, but it wouldn’t work for Earl’s trophy.

There is a challenge associated with the act of purchasing cosmetic items from him. When in galaxy view on the map go to Challenges and look under the ‘Other’ heading. The cheapest room decorations and trinkets all count towards that, so they should also work towards the trophy to help save eridium. I can’t say for sure as I am only at 14/20 so far based on the fact that the challenge is at 14/15.

    • PowerPyx says

      September 22, 2019 at 5:15 am

Thanks, you’re right about that, it registers it right away. I updated it with another workaround – better to hold on to the Eridium until you have enough and then make a backup save, restore it and rebuy if trophy doesn’t pop.

    • BodyChipper says

      September 22, 2019 at 2:23 pm

If you had to start a new game because of this glitch does your cash and eridium carry over into a NG+/TVHM so you could do it as soon as you hit Sanctuary for the first time? I’m assuming Earl doesn’t get new stock other than what’s originally there if you bought it all and the trophy didn’t pop.

    • PowerPyx says

      September 22, 2019 at 5:48 pm

If you start from scratch then everything would be lost (all cash and Eridium).
NG+ might work but I reckon it would still be bugged, as the bug seems to be something wrong with the character specific save. Worth a shot though.

    • BodyChipper says

      September 24, 2019 at 2:50 am

Luckily Earl’s trophy popped for me exactly when expected, albeit delayed. It was a very long 30-40 seconds or so from when I purchased the 20th item and the challenge was marked complete in-game to when the trophy popped up. I could agree that perhaps these trophies are tied to the in-game challenge trackers and maybe that’s why trophies aren’t popping for some if played across multiple characters or in co-op.

  49. Spaceknight says

    September 22, 2019 at 1:58 pm

Crazy Earl requires 20 purchases **by a single character**.
Yeah, most trophies are on one character (all side missions, etc) but maybe people aren’t realizing that here because the purchases become available on the whole account. I found this out because there’s a challenge, and even after buying some on my alts the trophy waited until my main tracked 20/20 on the challenge.
So maybe the trophy isn’t actually bugged, just misunderstood?

For the Bolt-On trophy, it seems to be literally unlocking 10 cosmetics game. So it doesn’t count items like the retro skins from the delux edition. So counting that a character has 10 available doesn’t really track the trophy requirements.

Has anyone else had an issue with the Bolts-On trophy? I’m level 50 and definitely have way more than 10 skins and this hasnt popped for me. I’m playing co-op with my partner and yet it popped for him.

You’re not the first one to report issues with that particular trophy. I’ve now added it to the officially bugged trophies.
This and the cosmetics from Earl seem particularly buggy for many players. When you find new skins on your way to platinum, put 10 into storage. Then send them to a 2nd PS4 account > send them back to your main account > make new character > retrieve the mail and redeem the 10 skins at the start of the game. Redeeming them on a new char can pop the trophy some players reported.

Definitely not the only cause. I have 223/223 locations found and never got the the trophy for all location or the Pandora locations. I have never switched off normal mode.

    • Lethal Logic says

      September 24, 2019 at 6:56 am

Agreed with Eric here. I was strictly playing on Normal trying to get 100% before I switched to TVHM. I only needed one location in Pandora to get the last two trophies and then platinum. Upon getting the last location, nothing happened.. I’m now at 223/223 and 78/78 for Pandora, but it won’t pop..

Hoping they patch in a fix for this.. This game apparently gets extremely buggy towards the end of it..

  54. Eric says

    September 24, 2019 at 3:43 am

To anyone with 78/78 on Pandora, or 223/223 without the trophies, I can confirm the statistic tracking in the director can just be wrong. I had 78/78 on Pandora without the trophy, so just decided to go back through every area. After driving through “Reckless Risers” location in Sandblast scar, it said “Area Discovered” despite having already ridden through this area with my co-op partner. Lo and behold, the trophy for Pandora and All Locations popped. So chances are the game shows you’ve gone to all locations, when in actuality it missed triggering one. The solution is to simply go back through every location. Not ideal, but better than starting over.

This is why others have reported success by revisiting Logan’s Spar, for example. For them, that was the location the game didn’t properly register. Your “glitched” location may be different, so just hit them all. Good luck.

I’m only on Level 42 and I only have Eridian Slabs, Proving Ground trials, and Circles of Slaughter left (although that may be enough to bump me to Level 50). If not, can anyone confirm whether starting TVHM (i.e. NG+) completely write over your OG progress? Or does it create a new character slot for you so you can “revert” to playing OG?

If it doesn’t, I’ll leave it because I imagine DLC will require you to get to a certain spot on the map and I don’t neccesarily want to play through the whole game again .

    • Jokke says

      September 26, 2019 at 5:28 pm

Fear not, all difficulty modes have separate “slots” and progress. So you can jump between and continue playthroughs as you please (normal – TVHM – [possible future] UVHM). When you start playing, just select difficulty from starting menu (option will be added there as you complete story first time).

    • PowerPyx says

      September 27, 2019 at 2:04 pm

As Moze I put my points in Red tree for extra damage, half the green tree for bigger magazine size/ammo recovery and 5 points in blue tree for skill that gives -5s iron bear cooldown rate per kill (with diminishing returns). For Iron Bear I used the two miniguns with Cryo Mod that makes it last longer. The final skill in red tree is important as it gives you an instant shield recharge when your shield gets depleted. When your health is starting to take hits, summon iron bear to become immune and shoot enemy weakpoints. Use Atlas Rifle that fires 2 bullets per ammo consumed, best weapon I could find in the game (either keep playing Atlas weapons to get mail rewards every 100 kills or get lucky to find it — doing Atlas weapon kills gets you one of these weapons every 500-1000 kills on average). There are many other viable weapons of course, but usually I found purple weapons to vastly outperform yellow rarity ones. Get to lvl50 first and get lvl50 weapons to make it easier. Play on easy difficulty to make it much easier.

Slaughterstar is by far the hardest one Solo, as the difficulty ramps up a lot during Round 4-5. The other two I did solo first try as Moze with above build.

For anyone who has to do the firing range trophy solo, using Moze’s Iron Bear with dual mini guns can help (that way you can swap when one starts to overheat). It gives you a little more “spray and pray” ability so you don’t have to be dead on with the aiming. You’ll still need to track targets quickly, and it requires some luck on the randomness of the targets. It took me probably 25 tries to finally get it, but was far more effective than trying to shoot them naturally with my Zane build even post-game.

The trophy for completing all side missions is bugged for me on the latest build with PS4 Pro. I have 106/95 missions completed with the only missions left (exclamation points) are circles of slaughter and redoing the dynasty dash missions. I have not yet completed the circles of slaughter but have picked up the quests, and I have checked your list for all side missions to no avail. I have all of the side missions completed that you do, but no trophy.
