Borderlands 3 All Typhon Log Locations & Dead Drops

Borderlands 3 (BL3) has 66 Typhon Log Locations and 22 Typhon Dead Drops (88 total). They are Crew Challenge Collectibles that give you good gear and bonus XP. The way it works is that some maps have 3 typhon log locations in them. Finding the 3 typhon logs allows Tannis to triangulate the First Vault Hunter’s Dead Drop on that map. Looting the dead drop awards you with some great weapons.

There are never more than 3 typhon logs and 1 dead drop per map. The typhon logs on their own don’t really do anything, only after finding all 3 logs on the same map the typhon dead drop will unlock. This means you can’t just go straight to the dead drop as it’s locked and can’t be opened until you find the 3 typhon logs.

These collectibles also count as Crew Challenges and are needed if you want 100% game completion. They don’t give any trophies or achievements and are entirely optional. It’s still good for some passive XP and to get better gear throughout the game. After the story you can activate Mayhem Mode to make the dead drop rewards scale to your character level.

None of the typhon logs or typhon dead drops are missable! You can still find them all after the story in free-roam. They can be found with every character. You can keep track of how many you found by pressing L3 / Left Stick on the world map and pressing D-Pad Left/Right to open the “Challenges” tab. You can also zoom out to the planet or to orbit to view your overall progress.

The guide below shows all of them ordered by planets. Once you go near their locations they get marked on your in-game map, where you can put a waypoint on them to make them easier to track down. They are usually in plain sight. Typhon Logs look like metal boxes. Typhon Dead Drops look like weapons lockers.
