The Homestead (Part 3) is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Homestead (Part 3) Side Quest.
The Homestead (Part 3) is unlocked when you complete side mission The Homestead (Part 2).

Area: The Splinterlands
Quest Giver: Pa Honeywell
Requirement: Complete side mission The Homestead (Part 2)
Recommended Level: 26
Reward: $3,427 + 6,126 XP + Pa’s Rifle (unique assault rifle)
Mission Info: Now that Pa’s back on the scene, the stead needs to be secure. Those whippersnappers outside will get what’s coming to ’em once we get Ol’ Bessie back online.
Objectives:
- Follow Pa to barn
- Start up Ol’ Bessie
- Open first valve
- Open second valve
- Melee third valve
- Open last valve
- Climb to roof
- Activate Ol’ Bessie
- Kill bandits
- Return to Pa
Starting Location: The Homestead (Part 3)

Follow Pa to Barn
Pa says he has something to deal with all the COV in the area who won’t be happy about you returning what they borrowed. Follow him over to the barn.
Start Up Ol’ Bessie
Head in the barn and flip the switch to the right.
Open First Valve
Go up the nearby ladder and interact with the valve at the top.
Open Second Valve
To get tot he second valve, go beside the fuel tank then around the outside path around the barn, then up over the wall.

Melee Third Valve
Head up the nearby ladder to the outside of the barn, then back inside across the rafters to the third valve, and melee it.

Open Last Valve
To get to the last valve, jump across the gap to the open doorway, then turn immediately to the right and up the platform and inside again. Then aim at the red light between the pipes and shoot it to activate it.

Climb to Roof
You now need to get to the rooftop to fully activate Bessie. Turn to your right and you should now see a ladder you can climb. Go up that one, then up the one in the middle of the area.
Activate Ol’ Bessie
Finally pull the lever up top.
Kill Bandits
A bunch of bandits show up at the front gate and in dropships, head over and deal with them.
Return to Pa
Once all the bandits are dead, head over and speak to Pa to complete the mission and get your reward – his unique Assault Rifle!
This finishes The Homestead (Part 3) side mission in Borderlands 3.
