Capture the Frag is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Capture the Frag Side Quest.
Capture the Frag is unlocked when you completed The Guns of Reliance.
Planet: Eden-6
Area: Reliance, Floormoor Basin
Quest Giver: Clay
Requirement: having completed The Guns of Reliance
Recommended Level: 27
Reward: 3838$ / 6548XP
Mission Info: Looks like the COV started killing each other. How about we give them a hand?
Objectives:
- Go to Tyreen’s Camp
- Kill Team Tyreen
- Activate Payload
- Escort Payload
- Go to Troy’s Camp
- Kill Team Troy
- Drop the Load
- Talk to Clay
Starting Location: Capture the Frag
Go to Tyreen’s Camp
A quick way to get there is to fast travel to Knotty Peak. Tyreen’s Camp is just around the corner.
Kill Team Tyreen
Once we arrive, we obviously have to take out Tyreen’s followers. Most enemies are cannon fodder, really. There is one main enemy, which has a Rocket Launcher. You might want to take this “Chosen” one, before he can cause much harm to you.
Activate Payload
Once the area is literally quiet, head to the console and activate the switch.
Escort Payload
If you are wondering, what the Payload is – it is a huge bomb!
Follow along the tracks, where it is being transported. Every now and again, it stops and you have to shoot some of the highlighted parts to get it moving again.
Go to Troy’s Camp
Troy’s Camp can be entere from the side, where the Catch-a-Ride-Station is placed.
Kill Team Troy
Because we don’t want to be unfair to the siblings, we will take out the brothers’ entire clan as well.
Circle all around to the top to reach the last set of enemies – including another Chosen One with a Rocket Launcher.
Drop the Load
Once everyone has been dealt with, you can finally release the bomb by pressing the switch on the console.
Talk to Clay
Sadly, it does not explode. But as everyone is dead anyhow, it is not a big deal to us. There will be quite a bit of loot around where it was dropped. Be sure to pick it up!
Now, you can fast-travel back to Reliance and talk to Clay to conclude this quest.
