Borderlands 3 All Eridian Writing Slabs Locations

September 17, 2019 by PowerPyx 33 Comments

Borderlands 3 (BL3) has 30 Eridian Writing Slab Locations. Finding all Eridian Writing Collectibles unlocks the Tales From The Eridian Slab trophy or achievement.

None of these collectibles are missable! You can still get all of them after the story in free roam. Some require you to have done specific side missions as will be pointed out in the guide.

When you get close to an Eridian Slab it will be marked on the map via a blue icon. However, you won’t be able to read it until you unlock the ability near the end of the game (automatic from main story and unmissable). So beat the story first and collect them after.

The ones you found get a different icon on the map. You can also keep track by pressing L3 / Left Stick on the world map / in orbit / in zone map to view how many you found.

You also earn 25 Eridium per Slab, which is Borderland 3’s premium currency to buy skins and customization items from the Crazy Earl merchant in Sanctuary. 30 Slabs x 25 Eridium makes 750 Eridium earned in total.

The below guide is ordered by planets and zones. It is best used after the story. The story will bring you to all of these areas automatically. During the story some areas are not yet accessible but you wouldn’t be able to decipher the slabs anyway.

Trophy Bug Warning: The trophy often glitches and doesn’t unlock after the 30th writing. You can fix this by scanning the story-related Slab in Sanctuary, in Tannis’s infirmary again. Scan it a few times and the trophy should unlock. The tracking for it in orbit view is also known to be broken and shows 34/30 or 36/30 Eridian Slabs found even though there are only 30 total.

Pandora (11 Eridian Slabs)

#1 – The Droughts

#2 – The Droughts

#3 – Ascension Bluff

#4 – Devil’s Razor

#5 – Devil’s Razor

#6 – The Splinterlands

#7 – Carnivora

#8 – Guts of Carnivora

#9 – Konrad’s Hold – only during / after side quest “The Demon in the Dark” which also starts in Konrad’s Hold right by the entrance to this slab

#10 – Cathedral of The Twin Gods

#11 – Destroyer’s Rift

Promethea (6 Eridian Slabs)

#12 – Meridian Outskirts

#13 – Meridian Metroplex

#14 – Lectra City – This Area is only accessible during / after Side Quest Kill Killavolt. This quest can be accepted from Sanctuary or in Meridian Metroplex.

#15 – Skywell-27

#16 – Atlas HQ

#17 – Neon Arterial

Athenas (1 Eridian Slab)

#18 – Athenas

Eden-6 (8 Eridian Slabs)

#19 – Floodmoor Basin

#20 – Floodmoor Basin

#21 – The Anvil

#22 – Jakobs Estate

#23 – Voracious Canopy

#24 – Ambermire

#25 – Ambermire

#26 – Blackbarrel Cellars

Nekrotafeyo (4 Eridian Slabs)

#27 – Desolation’s Edge

#28 – Desolation’s Edge – only during / after side quest “Bad Vibrations”. This is a follow-up quest to “Cannonization” which also starts in Desolation’s Edge. See video guide linked at the start of the guide if you have trouble finding the way.

#29 – Tazendeer Ruins

#30 – The Pyre of Stars

Bonus – Sanctuary Infirmary

If the “Tales From The Eridian Slab” trophy or achievement doesn’t unlock after all 30 Eridian Slabs were found, go back to Tannis’s Infirmary in Sanctuary and scan the story-related stone a few more times. It glitched out for me too and I had to scan it 6 times in a row to make the trophy unlock. If that still doens’t work, reboot the game or join a friend’s session to repeat scanning the Sanctuary Slab.

That’s all the Eridian Slab Locations in Borderlands 3 (BL3). For all other Collectibles check out our full Borderlands 3 Wiki & Strategy Guide.

Have one location left, at Floodmore basin, thinking its at the drop pod, cause there is no “entered area” close by, but i cant seem to get it. Any known glitched locations in this area ?

How do I get to the bottom part on #28 Desolation’s edge? I can find a way down to the bottom of the map for the second erosion writing

Follow through side quest “Bad Vibrations”. It makes you place some explosives on the level above, which lets you drop down. See the video guide linked at the start, I show the full path there where you must drop down. I’ll also add a second screenshot for this in a minute, because after having done the side quest it can be hard to find the way back – so thanks for asking.

The tracking in this game is completely broken. Same for everything else (missions, locations etc). Sometimes it shows the right amount, sometimes it goes crazy and shows wrong numbers.

There are only 30, the tracker is bugged for it.
When you have 30 it jumps to 34/30 and when you scan the slab in Sanctuary again it jumped to 36/30 for me and popped the trophy. Counts for everything else (missions, locations etc.) are bugged too.

Broken game. Mine also says 36/30 in the stats despite there only being 30 slabs.
On the last few it keeps counting them double. Rescanning the slab in Sanctuary was the only thing that worked for me to pop the trophy but I had to rescan it a few times.
Otherwise, reinstalling the game and then rescanning the Sanctuary Slab can help (reinstall sometimes fixes trophy bugs).

I’m 34/30 slabs and it won’t let me scan the one in sanctuary anymore no matter what I try It just says “Inspect”

I was at 36/30 and I have exhausted the tannis slab (only inspect, no translate) before finding my last slab on athena.
Then I went to athena and got my last slab (37/30), no trophy popped.
Travelling back to sanctuary and it has allowed me to scan the tannis slab three more times. I got my trophy at (40/30).

It also popped for me when I got to 40 by scanning the one in sanctuary, so maybe that’s the trick (I had all the other ones, but it may work by just scanning sanctuary one to 40 and ignoring all the others? If someone wants to test it…)

I can confirm once I’d hit 40/30 the trophy also popped for me so there might be something too this, also as a side note make sure to check each planets eridian slab tracker separately the overall counter is completely broken and is all but useless for tracking

    Hey guys 🙂

Among those who have not unlocked the trophy, are there any who can no longer read the Eridian scriptures anymore ? I currently have 33/30 (tracker bug) but I can’t reread the stone in Tannis’s infirmary to pop the trophy, my character says he can’t decipher this gibberish….

That’s another bug of its own and you’re not alone with this. Some people couldn’t scan their last few slabs because the game has some issue and “forgets” that you unlocked the ability to read Eridian Writing. I’m not aware of any workaround as of yet, will require a proper patch. Perhaps a reinstall of the game can help (but back up save games before you do that).

It might be worth noting that you will have to defeat Captain Traunt in Athenas and defeat Aurelia in Blackbarrel Cellars in order to reach those slabs…not that defeating either of them should provide any difficulty by the point that you gain the ability to translate slabs.

Just started my slab hunt today, and found the 2 that I missed easily thanks to you.

I’m pretty sure you need all of the iridian slabs to come from the same playthrough or at least difficulty setting. I had 34/30, but had got some in TVHM. Went back through my first playthrough and used your guide compared to my maps to figure out which ones I didn’t have, and voila. Still had to use the one in Tannis’ lab a few times, but it worked eventually.

That vendor drops Artifacts when you get three matching slab icons. It threw me off to til I hit it.

Confirmed that 40/30 unlocked the trophy for me. 30 slabs + 1 I stood on end of the game. The + 1 was me accidentally “translating” a second time Tannis slab. All I then did was translating an additional 9 times. At 40/30 the trophy unlocked

Yeah, but how are we supposed to get to 40 when the slab on Sanctuary only allows you to scan it about 3 times before it bugs out? I’m sitting at 32/30 on the Galaxy screen and I can only get it up to 35/30 by scanning the sanctuary slab before it breaks…

AFAIK you can’t re-scan any of the other slabs in the game. So far this hasn’t been fixed or even addressed. They’re too busy nerfing shit to get anything fixed.

Thank you.. I was bugged with 34/30 with this being the final trophy before plat. Sanctuary fixed it.. took me 4 scans.
A lot of bugs still in this game. I clean swept the entire game and one of the devil razor tower radios wont unlock, even tho its checked and grayed out. Also the 2nd red chest on athena still locked behind door and the quest couldnt be repeated. Galaxy shows 101% complete. Now can finally move on to death stranding and jedi fallen
