In Crimson Desert, money is denominated in silver and copper. 100 copper is 1 silver coin. Money is needed to buy equipment from vendors. This guide explains how to get money fast.
Fast Money in Early Game – Get Gold Bar Instantly for 190 Silver
Immediately after the Prologue when you arrive at Hernand Castle, you can steal a Gold Bar. It can be sold for 190 Silver, then you don’t need to worry about money for a long time. This only takes 2 minutes.
Go to Lioncrest Manor in the north of Hernand town.
On the right side of the manor climb the wall to open the window and climb through (must be below window for the open/climb prompt).
Inside the manor go downstairs to the fireplace and steal the gold bar from it. The “steal” prompt will only appear if you’re wearing a mask. Quickly escape the red search area before a guard sees you. Don’t steal in front of the guards that walk around the house. You can then sell the gold bar for 190 silver.
If you don’t have a mask, you can get one from the Back Alley Shop south of Hernand, just a short walk away.
Go Mining for Rare Minerals in Crimson Desert Region
Crimson Desert has large clusters of Scolecite and Azurite along the main road that leads to the northernmost town Varnia. Each deposit contains up to 6 crystals/ore. Scolecite sells for 1.03 silver each, so 6 silver per mining spot. Azurite sells for 0.95 silver each so close to another 6 silver per spot.
Scolecite Deposits:
Azurite Deposits:
The minerals respawn after a while, but it’s very slow. If you activate the fast travel points there, you can come back later to farm them again. You can get a quick 60+ silver there from mining. The downside is that Crimson Desert is a long trip from the Hernand starting region, expect a 30+ minute ride. Activate some fast travel points along the way and activate bells to unfog the map.
Mine Diamonds and Sell them
Diamonds sell for 2.28 silver a piece. You can find 6-8 of these per deposit. They are typically deep inside caves and harder to reach places. Once you found them they stay marked on the map and they regrow over time but it’s very slow (check back after a few weeks in-game time). Combined with mining Scolecite and Azurite it can get you plenty of money and you can use the opportunity to unfog the map too.
Diamond Locations:
- In the crater south-east from Howling Hill in Hernand region. At the bottom of the crater you will find it at the end of a small cave.

- In south-west of Demeniss region

- In Crimson Desert region, south of Tashkalp town

- In north of Crimson Desert region, along the road toward Varnia, north of Trader’s Expanse

Win at Minigames (Up to 900 Silver in Minutes)
Winning at minigames with high buy-ins can yield a lot of money fast if you go all-in and win against multiple opponents who also go all-in. Lower value tables require a buy-in of 150 silver, and higher value tables require a significant buy-in of 300 silver. If you can win an all-in round with 3 opponents you get +900 silver. Just make a manual save beforehand, if you lose, reload and retry. You can also try cheating in these games when it’s your turn to shuffle.
You can find the Duo minigames in the inn of Hernand, upstairs.
A higher value version of duo wth 300 silver buy-in is found in Tashkalp (the town in south of Crimson Desert region). You often have 4 opponents there who each starts with 300 silver.
A 300 silver buy-in of 5-cards minigame is found in the north-west of Demeniss.
General Money Making Methods
- Spend some time doing faction missions for townfolk to unlock more inventory slots. When you scroll over the faction quests in the journal it shows which ones reward “Bags” that expand your inventory. You can also buy bags from merchants to increase inventory size. Then loot all enemies you kill for items. Whenever you return to a town, sell all the armor/weapons you looted.
- You will also loot many “small copper pouches” from enemies, which you can open from the inventory for instant money. They stack in the same inventory slot and you can open all at once.
- Go hunting/skinning animals in the woods. Sell their parts to vendors. You often find groups of deer, each of them gives hides and meat and sometimes horns. You can also use excess materials to upgrade leather armors at the blacksmith, then sell the higher quality armor for a bigger profit.
- Go mining for rare ore (using pickaxe) in late game regions. The entire map is open from the start. You can head directly to the Crimson Desert in the north-east and get rarer ores there that sell for more money.
- You can make passive investment income by investing gold bars at the bank. A bank is found in the north of Hernand town, marked by a “?” icon on the map (environment tab). 500 silver can be exchanged for 1 gold bar and you can buy a deposit box for 100 silver. Then you can invest the gold bar for passive income. Instead of letting it sit idle in your inventory you might as well invest it. Gold bars can be exchanged back to 500 silver. You can find the alchemy recipe to make gold bars on the top floor of Spire of Insight, then you can make as many gold bars as you want.

You can go to the wildlife park and its just full of nobles buy yourself a mask go there and use your shining light check what they have in there pockets and a lot have gold bars and pickpocket them i ended up with 25 gold bars in about 4 hours that definitely by far the fastest way
Daz says
And im still in the starter village i think i have done about 5 quest from fallowing your guide and defoging the whole map but I keep getting side tracked but I have farm spots for just about everything and still need 2 bells so will get them
Noah says
Not sure if patched, but that Gold Bar is not on top of fireplace. First time checking so not waiting on any kind of cooldown or anything.
PowerPyx says
It should be inside the fireplace (not on top). You can only use the “steal” prompt if you’re wearing a mask. The gold bar won’t be visible, you will get an animation where you put your hand inside the fireplace to pull it out from a hiding spot.

So once you get the gold bar, you can take it to the bank and exchange it for 500 silver instead of selling it for 500 gold… I literally just did it minutes ago.
Weldon says
Instead of selling it for 190 gold, sorry for the typo!
PowerPyx says
You will need to spend 100 silver coins first to buy a deposit box. So unless you already farmed more money it won’t work in early game.
