- Find a way inside
- Follow the cables, destroy the glass barrier devices, and go to the roof
- Destroy the device in the center of the roof to find where H.A.L.L. is
- Flying Fortress Orbian Boss Fight
Destroy the Flying Fortress Orbian / Destroy the core rotating outside Flying Fortress Orbian and disable the protective barrier
Important before you start – without these you’ll get stuck and have to redo everything:
- Must have “Stab” skill at Level 1 (should be automatically unlocked at this point).
- Bring a bow and have the blue skill “Charged Shot” unlocked.
- Optional but helpful: have the green skill “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2 to throw back projectiles.
After the previous quest you will automatically mount the flying dragon. If you dismounted it, you can call it again with D-Pad
. Fly to the Sky Fortress and use the dragon to shoot fire projectiles at the yellow cores around the fortress. They can only be hit when you are straight in front of them in the red lasers and they glow yellow. After destroying all 5 cores you get a cutscene.
Find a way inside
You will now continue on foot inside Orbian fortress. To find a way inside, use the “Stab” skill on the round pillar in front of you (
+
/
+
/ Shift + Right Click). This will get your weapon stuck in it and acts like a lever you can push to rotate the pillar.
Rotate it to move the ceiling until the open grate aligns with the open ceiling. Then jump through with 3 mid-air Force Palms.
Follow the cables, destroy the glass barrier devices, and go to the roof
On the next floor, use “Stab” skill on the green glass barrier in the middle and press the shown button to pierce it (
/
). Defeat the enemies on this floor.
Check the sides for cables going up. Climb up the cables to the roof. There is a ledge halfway up the roof where you can rest if needed.
Destroy the device in the center of the roof to find where H.A.L.L. is
In the middle of the rooftop use “Stab” skill on the green glass device and destroy it.
You will get a short scene where a door opens up on the north side of the fortress. Watch the minimap for the arrow pointing north. Look down the ledge for the now-open gate and drop onto it. Be careful not to fall down.
From where you land, enter the round corridor, go around the left side until you reach a metal gate with a green cog icon on it. Climb the gate and hang on to the side of it slightly off the center. While hanging onto the door use Focused Force Palm. This will rotate the door and puts you on the other side. A regular Force Palm won’t work, it has to be a Focused Force Palm.

Flying Fortress Orbian Boss Fight
IMPORTANT: Don’t die during the boss fight or you’ll respawn at the start of the fortress and must redo all steps! If taking any damage, immediately heal back fully, and use a Palmer Pill if you die.
Immediately after rotating the gate you get a cutscene and a boss fight.
This is a special type of boss, it’s the core of Fortress Obsidian, looks like a golden eye and has 1 healthbar. Bring a bow to this fight and have the blue skill “Charged Shot” and the green skill “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2.
All you need to do is shoot the boss with Charged Shot. Hold
/
to aim and hold
/
to charge a shot. It takes some Spirit to use. You must have a bow equipped. Alternatively, if you don’t have a bow or arrows you can use the green skill “Nature’s Snare” at Level 2 to catch the projectiles the boss shoots at you and throw them back. Go into Focus Mode and rotate the right stick to catch the projectiles, then press the Right Stick to throw them back. Another method is to latch onto the core with Axiom Force then use Force Current skill (if you have it unlocked) to immediately stun the boss, do a few charged shots while it’s stunned.
The boss only has one attack which is shooting projectiles. When his yellow stunbar is full, he will “shut down” for a few seconds and takes massive damage from your next hit, so be quick to shoot him when this happens (takes out 25% of his health in one hit). A pretty easy and quick boss once you have the right skills.
Beating the boss finishes Cloud Fortress Orbian in Crimson Desert.
