In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla you can change between day and night at any time by meditating. This is sometimes useful for certain quest objectives that must be done at a specific time.
To meditate and change the time of day, hold Dpad Down 
to open the item wheel and select the bottom item “Meditate”.
This will play a little cutscene and automatically advance time until morning or nightfall.

for some reason i cant meditate or do cairns no idea why. when i go to meditate it keeps saying currently not availible do i need to unlock it? as for cairns there is nothing to interact with do i have to do them at certain times?

Are you on a main quest? There may be some main quest sections in the game that don’t let you change time. Outside of missions in free roam it should work at any time.

If you just load a recent autosave it coreects itself, atleast it dod for me.

There has to be a bug, as I have been unable to meditate since I started the game, I initially thought I had to unlock it from a quest or something hence why I am here. Hope it gets fixed soon

I can’t meditate either it keeps saying not currently available and I am doing free roam collecting treasures, resources and armor sets. It has to be a bug.

Everything was fine until I was doing the sleeping jotun then when I climbed the peak found the rock marked and then it wouldnt let me meditate..I cant continue the story until this is done help

I have the exact same issue – Same point in the story-line.
I would expect it to be fixed fairly soon .

Dave your game, hit the back button, go into load, load up the save you just made, and enjoy being able to progress through the game :3

I have the same problem. It was available, than it have disappeared. I can’t progress. Far from meditation I have bug to one of the main quest in mercia. It is devastating.

Stated about 4 times, various bugs. War weary, troops disappeared. No fishing rod. Shimmering, like I’m really drunk, at Christmas.

Well its Feb 21 and this issue still arising, could not do it earlier in the game when had to change from night to day to assassinate order member, so assumed was a perk or ability I would gain later in game now siting at mountain top in snotinghamshire and still cant meditate currently unavailable so annoying
tried all save suggestion arggggh
