There are 6 Sword Challenges in Crimson Desert. They are part of the Mastery Category. Finishing all Sword Challenges unlocks the Master of Swords trophy & achievement.
Challenges Overview:
Sword of Trials 1
- How to Unlock: Collect the Sealed Abyss Artifact on the side of the road north from Hernand Castle.
- Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies within 30 seconds using a sword.
- How to Complete: The challenge is self-explanatory, equip any sword and quickly kill 3 enemies. This is best done against weak unshielded bandits that die quickly. You can weaken them up beforehand. It should happen naturally if using any sword. When you upgrade the sword and use heavy attacks you will defeat enemies pretty fast.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact
Sword of Trials 2
- How to Unlock: Picked up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Hernand, on the side of the road south of Spire of Insight in a small wooden shrine.
- Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies at once using a one-handed sword.
- How to Complete: This challenge is effectively the same requirement as Sword of Trials 4, as you can use the charged Turning Slash

attack and it will count for both requirements. - Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact
Sword of Trials 3
- How to Unlock: Collect the Sealed Abyss Artifact in Hernand, at the intersection of a road near Goldleaf Tradepost, on the little road marker. Will be marked purple on the HUD minimap when nearby.
- Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies with a sword without taking damage.
- How to Complete: This challenge is self-explanatory. Use any sword in combat, and quickly kill 3 enemies without suffering damage. If you have an upgraded sword and do heavy attacks this will be very quick.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact
Sword of Trials 4
- How to Unlock: Collect Sealed Abyss Artifact in Hernand, on the side of the road northwest of Kilnden Workshop.
- Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies at once with a Sword Turning Slash attack.
- How to Complete: Turning Slash is unlocked in Kliff’s blue skill tree. You can then hold + to charge up a large swing that will knock enemies away, and can instantly defeat weaker enemies. Group up some enemies and charge the attack to deal a lot of damage and hopefully take out 3 at once.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Destruction I
Sword of Trials 5
- How to Unlock: Collect Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, at the intersection south of Reventine Monastery.
- Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies in a row using only Sword Stab attacks.
- How to Complete: Sword Stab attacks are performed by pressing +
to perform a forward thrust. It is recommended to upgrade the ability fully, as you can then use a second stab follow-up with , and at the third level it ignores enemy super armor. - Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Rend I
Sword of Trials 6
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact in Demeniss, along the path directly south of Jijeong Temple.
- Challenge: Defeat 5 enemies within 15 seconds with a one-handed sword using Forward Slash.
- How to Complete: Forward Slash is the basic heavy attack that Kliff can perform with . When upgraded this is quite strong, and will track toward enemies when performed multiple times in a row. Get a group of weak enemies and keep performing the attack to take out 5 within 15 seconds.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Faded Abyss Artifact, 1x Destruction II

Has anyone found a good way to do sword trial 2? Getting 3 enemies on low health to bunch up is torture…

A lot of those challenges can be done at roccas hill. There’s a swarm of kuku birds, they count as enemies. I got sword, shield, bow and spear challenges. Warp to respawn the flock.
