The first time you boot up Crimson Desert and start a new game, there will be a lengthy “white tunnel void” loading screen, especially for PC players. This can take a few minutes and it may seem like the game gets stuck.
But there’s a simple solution: Just wait a few minutes for the white tunnel animation to end. It’s a loading screen and the game is compiling the shaders. Depending on your hardware this can take much longer than other games. It only takes this long on the first bootup, or when the game releases a new patch that requires rebuilding the shader cache. On future bootups it will go much faster.
So it’s not a bug and the game isn’t damaged. It’s just an ultra long loading screen that the game doesn’t clearly label as such. With high end gaming PCs it might only take 1-2 minutes, with older hardware it can take a few minutes.

Heard of this game’s steep learning curve and not holding your hand. But damn, I had to look up a guide for the loading screen!

thanks for explaining… I am surprised that its a loading screen since there was a vulkan compile in Steam before the game launched, then a progress bar for shaders with the game logo, then when the game starts I am floating through clouds without any explanation, I didn’t know it was still loading. But, after minutes, it did end.
