Dying Light 2 Can You Throw Weapons?

Wondering if you can throw weapons in Dying Light 2? The answer is NO, you can’t throw your melee weapons.

This was likely removed to prevent the duplication exploit from Dead Island & Dying Light 1 that involved throwing your weapon and dropping it from inventory at the same time.

However, you CAN throw special throwable items, such as grenades or throwing knives (listed under accessories in the inventory menu). Equip throwable weapon in inventory > hold LEFT (PlayStation / Xbox / Switch) to open the item wheel and assign a throwable to a quick slot > L2 / LT to throw it.

There are also special “weapons of opportunity“, such as spears that are one-time throwable items found around the world. These CAN be thrown but don’t go in your inventory and can’t be used as melee weapons.
