Sentimental Value is a Side Mission (Side Quest) in Dying Light 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Sentimental Value side mission.

Requirement: Complete Main Quest “The Only Way Out”
Reward: 750 Combat XP, Music Box
Mission Info: Bandits have robbed Maya’s family. The girl asked me to retrieve a souvenir: a music box that was very valuable to her.
Objectives:
- Fight the bandits
- Talk to Maya
- Search for the music box
- Kill the infected that swallowed the music box
- Look for the music box in the Infected’s body
Starting Location: Sentimental Value
Sentimental Value is a side quest in Horseshoe that can be started by talking to Maya on a rooftop after completing Main Quest “The Only Way Out“.
Fight the bandits
Kill the three bandits that attack you.
Talk to Maya
Return to Maya and speak to her.
Search for the music box
Head to the dark hollow at the marked location in Quarry End and enter through the roof.
Kill the infected that swallowed the music box
Once inside, you will find a Goon infected that swallowed the music box. Kill it.
Look for the music box in the Infected’s body
After killing it, search it for the music box.
The music is a reward for doing this, however later on in the Bazaar after the quest you can speak to Maya and return it to her if you haven’t sold it.
This finishes Sentimental Value Side Quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Just a note – The music box is marked as a valuable, but you will meet Maya again and you’ll feel bad if you’ve sold it. They really should have flagged it differently.
yeah, i returned to her and she had no dialog option, then later on she was humming the tune, had a dialog option and was upset i sold it. kinda lame.
