The Shoe is a Story Quest (Main Mission) in Dying Light 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Shoe Story Mission.

Mission Info: Lawan demanded that I help her find a new pair of sneakers. She ruined the soles of her previous ones while rushing to help me. So she was pissed at me. But was this really just because of the shoes?
Objectives:

- Enter apartment 216
- Search the flat for Lawan’s shoes
- Clear the entrance to the hidden room
- Search the bedroom for Lawan’s shoes
- Talk to Lawan
- Meet Lawan at the rooftop

Follow Lawan
This quest starts immediately after Broadcast, regardless of what decision you made at the end of that quest. You will be on a high rooftop and need to continue down to a lower one following after Lawan.
If you glide to the very top of the building instead of the lower area, you can grab an airdrop on the way.

Catch up with Lawan
Speak with Lawan who is waiting on the rooftop near an entrance to the building.
Enter apartment 216
Lawan wants you to go into apartment 216 and grab a pair of shoes for her. Go through the marked elevator and drop down, then follow the hallway to the end where there is a lockpickable door leading into apartment 216.
Search the flat for Lawan’s shoes
Inside you can turn on a generator for some light, then use Survivor Sense to spot items around the apartment you can inspect.
Most items aren’t necessary to look at, but you should make sure to investigate the radio sitting on the table by the stairs, which will then give you a tape after.

Head up the stairs and crouch underneath the table to reach a wall with a moveable barrier.
Clear the entrance to the hidden room
Interact with the barrier to move it out of the way and reveal a hidden bedroom.
Search the bedroom for Lawan’s shoes
You’ll need to search around more in the bedroom for the shoes. Before doing that though you should make sure to grab the inhibitors from the GRE crate in the room.
There are a couple more items in the room you can investigate, but to find you shoes you can just investigate the red box slightly poking out from under the left side of the bed.
Talk to Lawan
After some discussion with Lawan, head back out of the apartment and outside the way you came in.
Meet Lawan at the rooftop
Lawan has left the rooftop to her angry spot, and you need to meet her there.

You can get there quickly by fast traveling to Metro: Downtown Court, then taking the winch up the building to the rooftop.
Wait for Lawan
Lawan won’t be on the rooftop when you arrive, so you can wait for her by interacting with one of the chairs.
After a little nap Lawan will now be there, and you will have a conversation with her. Your choices don’t matter here, so pick whatever you want, then after the conversation the quest will be over.
The next quest you play depends on who you gave control of the antenna to in “Broadcast”.
If you gave control of the antenna to Frank, then you play the quest “Nightrunners”.
If you gave control of the antenna to Jack Matt, then you play the quest “Empire”.
This finishes The Shoe story quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
