Shrine in Shadow is a Forgotten Shrine (also called Wind Shrine) in Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island. It’s a puzzle shrine with a scroll in front of it that provides clues in form of a poem. This guide shows how to solve the Shrine in Shadow.

The general idea with Forgotten Shrines is that you must wear a specific Armor and perform a specific action near the Shrine, hinted at by the poem. Each Shrine is an easter egg referencing other PlayStation games, including God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Bloodborne. By solving the Shrine you get a unique armor skin related to the corresponding game.
Shrine in Shadow Location
Shrine in Shadow is located in Buddha’s Footprints region in the south of Iki Island.
Shrine in Shadow Poem Riddle
The scroll in front of the Shrine gives the following riddle:
Stone knows no season,
nor the colossus that was
felled to save one soul.
Wanderer, come like through mist,
a ghost casting no shadow.
Shrine in Shadow Solution
- Stand behind the Statue.
- Equip the Ghost Armor (Automatically obtained during Act 2 – Main Quest: From the Darkness)
- Throw a Smoke Bomb (hold R2 + Down to select and press R1 to throw). When done correctly it will trigger a cutscene.
The relevant clues in the poem are “a ghost casting no shadow” which tells you to wear the Ghost Armor and “Wanderer, come like through mist” which means throwing a Smoke Bomb.
Shrine in Shadow Reward (Shadow of the Colossus Armor)
Upon solving the Shrine you will automatically be equipped with the Shadow of the Colossus Armor. Here are images from the front and back:

What is the region name when you zoom in on the map? It’s in Iki Island?
I’m not quite sure which one you refer to, I’ve been to all “?” question mark icons on Iki Island and don’t remember anything called a Destroyed Shrine.

Replying to that response in the furthest north section called “Raider’s Promontory”. There are two islands and the right one has this destroyed shrine on it next to a monkey sanctuary. I don’t have a solution to it either but the cape looks specifically European and not local to the region at all, which makes me believe it’s another reference.

You have to equip the Tadayori armor, then press the touch pad to go into Focused Hearing, you can see three targets on the statue. You have to hit them with arrows.
Nice surprise after that, the music gives you a hint.

Destroyed shrine is an unmarked location on the same island as the monkey sanctuary in raiders promontory in the far north of the map.
