The Past Never Passes (Ishikawa Tale 3 of 9) is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Past Never Passes Side Quest.

The Past Never Passes is unlocked when you’ve completed The Sensei and the Student.

Mission Info: (Ishikawa Tale 3 of 9). Sensei Ishikawa’s traitorous former student, Tomoe, is training Mongol archers in Hiyoshi. We stopped some from brutalizing a small settlement, but Tomoe is still out there. I will meet Ishikawa at his dojo to plan our next move.

Starting Location: The Past Never Passes

Meet Ishikawa at his dojo in Hiyoshi

Travel to Ishikawa’s dojo and speak with him.

Follow Ishikawa

Sensei Ishikawa is planning to defend Hiyoshi Springs from attack. Follow him to the back of his house where there’s a great vantage point to survey the area.

Survey the region around Hiyoshi Springs

When prompted, press to survey the area, and survey the coastal road, the bridge into town, and the road south that runs along a high ridge.

Reach the coastal road

Use the nearby handholds to climb down the cliff, and head towards the coastal road using the guiding wind.

Keep an eye out for Mongols

If you get near the coastal road without seeing any Mongols, you’ll get a sub-step to “look out” for Mongols. It usually doesn’t take long for them to find you.
