The Guardian of Tsushima (Norio Tale 8 of 9) is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Guardian of Tsushima Side Quest.
The Guardian of Tsushima is unlocked when you’ve completed The End of Suffering and Wolves at the Gates.

Requirement: having completed The End of Suffering and Wolves at the Gates.

Mission Info: (Norio Tale 8 of 9). The warrior monk Norio has gathered a group to wrest Cedar Temple from Mongol hands. I’m proud of his transformation into a determined leader. I’ll help him restore Cedar Temple to its rightful caretakers.

Starting Location: Sago
Meet Norio in Sago
Proceed to your tale marker to start this part of Norio’s tale.
Speak with the Monk
As you approach the tale marker, a monk will want to speak with you. He offers to escort you to where Norio is.
Follow the Monk to Norio
Now simply ride with the monk to a nearby building.
Speak with Norio
At your new location, dismount your horse and approach Norio to speak with him.
Go with Norio
Norio wants a minute with you alone. Follow him as he gives you an update about Cedar Temple, the monks’ seat in Kamiagata.
After the cutscene, ride with Norio to Cedar Temple. As you approach the Temple, you’ll notice some monks having been beaten up. Dismount your horse, enter the Temple and be ready to fight against some Mongols.
Defeat the Mongols
Upon entering the temple you’ll have to fight some swordsmen. Using the Stone Stance in this fight is ideal. Once you’ve defeated all Mongols, you will have reclaimed Cedar Temple.
Go with Norio
After the fight, approach Norio and walk with him to the main hall.
Speak with the Monk
As you approach the temple, a monk will warn you not to enter the main hall. You and Norio will enter anyway. After a brief cutscene, this part of the tale will end.
