The Headman (Masako Tale 2 of 9) is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Headman Side Quest.
The Headman becomes available after having finished Story Mission The Tale of Lady Masako.

Quest Giver: Lady Masako at Golden Temple, Ariake
Requirement: having finished The Tale of Lady Masako
Rewards: Minor Legend Increase, Minor Utility Charm, +2 Silk
Mission Info: (Masako Tale 2 of 9). Clan Adachi was betrayed by a conspiracy. Lady Masako lives only to destroy those responsible for her family’s murder.

Starting Location: The Headman
Meet Masako at Golden Temple
Reach or fast-travel to Golden Temple. Lady Masako is waiting for you here to continue her tale.
Follow Masako
After speaking with her, follow her outside Golden Temple.
Search for Hachi
After a while, you’ll be searching for Hachi. Follow the downhill path, the one with the shrine gates to find him.
Tail Hachi’s Cart
After spotting the cart, you’ll have to tail it without getting detected. Use the pampas grass and elevated routes to remain unnoticed.
Follow Masako
After a while Hachi will meet some horsemen. Follow Masako behind a trunk to remain hidden.
Tail the Men on Horseback
You’ll leave Hachi alone and instead follow the men on horseback. Don’t crouch too close to them. Instead, use trees and the pampas grass to remain hidden.
Speak with Masako
When you reach the horsemen’s location, speak with Masako who’s hiding behind a rock.
Search for Sadao
On your search for Sadao, you’ll first have to defeat the ambushing Mongols, most of which are swordsmen.
Speak with Masako
After eliminating all enemies, approach Masako by Sadao’s home to talk to her.
Speak with Hina
Sadao is not here, but his wife Hina is. Speak with her to end this part of Masako’s tale.
This finishes the The Headman quest in Ghost of Tsushima.
