The Other Side of Honor is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Broken Blacksmith side Quest.
The Other Side of Honor is unlocked when you’ve completed the introduction to the game, and enter the open world.
Side Tale: The Other Side of Honor
Act: 1 – Rescue Lord Shimura
Region: Izuhara
Quest Giver: Peasant Rumor
Requirement: Find the quest in the open world
Rewards: Minor Legend Increase, Minor Stealth Charm, 10 linen
Mission Info: Someone mentioned seeing a samurai alive in Kashine. If another samurai made it out of Komoda beach, I need to find out who it is.
Objectives:
- Investigate the area
- Speak with Jinroku
- Follow Nabe to the bath
- Investigate the stables
- Confront the imposter
- Reach the search area
- Track Jinroku
- Stop the imposter
- Defeat Jinroku
- Let the imposter go
- Return to the farm
- Speak with the woman
Starting Location: The Other Side of Honor
Investigate the area
Enter the large house at the waypoint, and speak with the woman to begin the mission. She will talk about the samurai Jinroku who has saved them from the Mongols. Odd, you don’t know the name.
Speak with Jinroku
Also odd, Jinroku said that the fight was at Komatsu beach, not Komoda. Maybe a bath will distract you.
Follow Nabe to the bath
Follow Nabe, and talk about Jinroku while you walk. You learn that his horse is at the stables, and Jin wants to look at it right away.
Investigate the stables
Go to the stables and look at Jinroku’s horse, his bags, and his saddle.
Or should he say, Lord Higuchi’s saddle. Whoops.
Confront the imposter
Go back to the house and discover that Jinroku left in a hurry while you were walking to the bath.
Reach the search area
In the path down the center of the field, you’ll see footprints leading to the outside gate.
Track Jinroku
Follow the footprints up the path, and you’ll find Jinroku hiding near the woods. After him!
Stop the imposter
Run up the path after Jinroku, until he disappears near a hot spring. Don’t be fooled, go across to the other ramp that leads out of the small area and you will corner him. He has no choice but to challenge you to a duel!
Defeat Jinroku
Well, sort of. Having called his bluff, he immediately drops his sword and begs for your mercy.
Let the imposter go
Lucky you don’t want to get bullshit all over your family katana, so Jinroku promises to leave and never impersonate a samurai again.
Return to the farm
Ride back to the farm, and go back inside the house.
Speak with the woman
When you tell the peasant the truth about Jinroku, she doesn’t really seem that surprised. More like they were in on the joke actually. Oh well, at least this was an easy mission.
This finishes The Other Side of Honor side quest in Ghost of Tsushima.
