Red Dead Redemption 2 Blessed are the Meek? Walkthrough

October 27, 2018 by Jack McBastard 7 Comments

Blessed are the Meek? is the 15th main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Blessed are the Meek? Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

Blessed are the Meek? is unlocked when you complete A Quiet Time.

Quest Giver: Micah
Chapter: 2
Region: West Elizabeth

Gold Medal Requirements:

  • While escaping, kill all mounted Lawman within 55 seconds
  • Get 15 headshots
  • Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

Starting Location: Strawberry, West Elizabeth

Locate and Speak to Micah

It seems Micah’s natural charms have gotten him in a spot of trouble with the law, and once again Arthur has to clean up his mess. Go to the sheriff’s office in Strawberry, and casually ask about the man he has in his jail.

The sheriff doesn’t seem too inclined to be cooperative, but the description he gives sure sounds like Micah. After coming out of the office, turn right and go around to the southwest side of the building to see Micah waving at you through the bars to get your attention.

It looks like that you’re going to have to break Micah out. Right next to the window of the jail cell is a huge steam powered winch, or a “steam donkey” as they call it.

Grab the hook from the winch and attach it to the cell window.

Then go around the left side of the steam donkey and grab the lever to activate the winch.

The winch will pull the bars out of the window freeing Micah, for better or worse.

Protect Micah

  • GOLD MEDAL: Get 15 headshots
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete the mission without taking any health items

The rest of the mission is a frantic running firefight. Try to play it safe and take your time through this part of the mission, stay behind cover and fire when it is safe.

Use Dead Eye to line up your shots and go for only head shots. Remember, the gold medal requirement only cares about healing items. You can use items that restore your Dead Eye, as long as they don’t also affect your Health.

After killing the first five lawmen, Micah will run to the southwest instead of away from town, apparently having some unfinished business that he has to take care of first.

Micah will go down the road next to the creek and start pounding at the door of a house on the southeast side of town, the home of his old partner Norman aka “Skinny”. After a few seconds inside, Micah will re-emerge with the guns that Norman had been “holding” for him.

Fully armed, Micah seems intent on murdering his way through the rest of the town, so he crosses the bridge to the east, and starts back up the main street towards the horses. Follow him and fight your way back, still going for headshots when it is safe.

Escape the Law with Micah

  • GOLD MEDAL: While escaping, kill all mounted Lawman within 55 seconds

Finally mounted up, Micah is ready to get out of town. Now you just have to eliminate the last few remaining lawmen on horseback, and quickly. This is the only part of the mission that is time-sensitive, so act fast. Use Dead-Eye if you still need head shots, but kill them quickly.

There will be a total of eight mounted lawmen:

  • The first pair catch up with you just as you leave town
  • The second pair ride down from the hills to the left a short time later
  • The third pair appear from the right just as you hit the main road
  • The final pair are waiting in ambush at the fork.

You must kill all eight in under 55 seconds to meet this requirement.

Follow Micah while he explains himself until he pulls off to the side of the road. He will give you a holster as a thank you, let you know that he’s not ready to rejoin Dutch’s crew and ride off to end the mission.

This finishes Blessed are the Meek? main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest The First Shall Be Last starts.

Next Up: The First Shall Be Last

Is there any chance to do this mission without getting a ton of bad reputation?

Isn’t that mission the best opportunity to do the bountiful trophy? We already have the new austin and the state from this mission would be second.
Just manually save after this mission, do the remaining three states and reload.

I just parted ways with Micah….now what? I have a $300 bounty on my head and it says I’m still in a mission because I can’t save my game yet. Where am I supposed to go? What am I supposed to do? I’m back at Horseshoe and there is no one at the camp that is waiting to talk to me.

I killed my poor special edition thoroughbred on this mission left him too near the prison and got killed in the explosion. Thankfully he showed up a few days later in the valentine stable. Had to start bonding again from scratch though.
