Red Dead Redemption 2 Sodom? Back to Gomorrah Walkthrough

October 31, 2018 by Jack McBastard Leave a Comment

Sodom? Back to Gomorrah is the 33rd main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Sodom? Back to Gomorrah Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

Sodom? Back to Gomorrah is unlocked after completing Preaching Forgiveness as He Went.

Quest Giver: Bill Williamson
Chapter: 3
Region: Lemoyne

Gold Medal Requirements:

  • Headshot 5 mounted Lawmen during the horseback escape
  • Get to Downes Ranch within 1 minute 55 seconds
  • Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

Starting Location: Clemens Point, Lemoyne

Talk to Bill Williamson

Bill and Karen want your help to complete the bank robbery that Karen has been pitching since Valentine. She expects plenty of money and not much resistance, so it should be easy money. The plan is to send in Karen first to distract the guards, and then have Arthur, Lenny and Bill come in to rob the place before they know what’s happening. Seems simple enough.

Ride out to Valentine with the crew. You will leave your horses in the empty lot next to the Gunsmith.

Decide if Karen will play the lost girl or the drunk harlot. Whichever you prefer, but I chose harlot. No reason.

Rob the Bank

Approach the bank door and when Arthur says go, pull up your bandanna and storm the door.

Keep the bank customers covered until you’re directed to open the teller’s door.

Push the teller into the back room and force him to open the vault.

You can choose to beat the teller if you think he’s moving too slow. Though you may have to do it more than once.

Eventually he will open the vault, and earn a third pistol whipping for good luck.

Inside are five individual safes. While it is faster to blow them up, it will attract too much attention. Better to crack them.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Loot all the safes

When next to the safe, press  :tr: / :y: to begin cracking the safe. Rotate the  :ls: counterclockwise, feeling by the vibration when the tumblers catch, then rotate clockwise and repeat, then counterclockwise for the third number to open the safe.

Loot the contents and move to the next safe. Open all five this way, then get the hell out of there with a huge stack of cash.

Pull your bandanna down as you leave, and walk away clean…

Evade the Law

Almost clean. Get on your horse and start heading south with the crew.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete the mission without taking any health items
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • GOLD MEDAL: Headshot 5 mounted Lawmen during the horseback escape

As the mounted lawmen close with you, make sure you get at least 5 accurate headshots. Use Dead Eye to make it easier to get headshots while on horseback. You have from the point you leave Valentine until you cross the train tracks to get your five, after which you will make your getaway and lose your opportunity.

Arthur divides up the cash, and tells everyone to split up and not to head directly back to camp. I’m not sure if it makes a difference, but you might as well skip this cinematic because your timer is about to start.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Get to Downes Ranch within 1 minute 55 seconds

Ride to Downes Ranch

As soon as you regain control start riding hard for the Downes Ranch.

When you reach the ranch, talk to the Widow Downes and collect the money for Strauss. Afterwards you shall automatically ride back to camp, and the mission will be complete.

This finishes Sodom? Back to Gomorrah main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest Advertising, the New American Art – II starts.
