Arcadia for Amateurs is a Stranger Mission Strand (Side Questline) in Red Dead Redemption 2. This Walkthrough shows how to complete the Stranger Missions.
Quest Giver: Albert Mason
Region: south-east of Strawberry
Requirements: none; a few ingame-days between the each part
Arcadia for Amateurs Starting Location
This Mission Strand can be started very early on in the game and starts not too far away from the Gang’s first Camp.
Photographer Albert Mason is taking some shots of nature and animals all over the country.
While he wants us to pose for a photo, a coyote steals his bag. Time for us to run after the little furry thief, but he will drop the bag after a few seconds of chasing him – no violence needed.
Return the bag to Albert and he will be happy. We’re getting the feeling this might not be the only time we see this unfortunate man.
Part II
In our second encounter, Albert is trying to capture wolves. He hung a piece of meat on a tree and is waiting for a good shot.
Speaking of shooting – as we would have expected, the predators turn against us quite quickly and have to be killed. The pack of wolves can be best dealt with Dead Eye – there is a total of 5 animals you have to kill.
Once done, Arthur gives Albert another fair warning, that animal photography might not the best choice for him, especially not with predators like these.
Part III
The next time we meet Albert further east, he already settled down to horses. That’s a start. The only problem is that the animals simply won’t come close enough to him. Arthur swings on his horse and has to wrangle them in his direction. Simply ride around them and gently lead them into his direction. Once they are in a certain distance to him, Albert can take his picture.
He is thankful once again and has a little gift for us – a photo of the pack of wolves from our last encounter with him.
Part IV
In our fourth encounter, Albert seemed to have a bit of a relapse and went back to dangerous animals – alligators.
Before anything can go wrong, Arthur offers his help once again and wants Albert to take his pictures from the boat.
There is a total of three locations we have to row to. The first one counterclockwise is an alligator who just drags some prey into the water. Row close enough and in the line of sight for this shot.
For the second spot, Arthur has to get out of the boat and attract another gator to run into the water.
The third spot only features another alligator peacefully swimming.
Once all three pictures have been captured, row back to the starting position. Time to say goodbye – for now.
Part V
There is one more final encounter with Albert – this time on a cliff, trying to capture eagles.
Arthur gives him a fair warning to step away from the edge a bit, but Albert falls down anyhow.
Luckily, he can hold onto something and we are able to pull him up.
Now, Albert finally learned about all the dangers that go with his profession and he packs together his gear and moves on. For good.

You have to wait a certain amount of ingame-time for the next part to appear. At least one day, maybe even two.
Do some other quests or set up camp to sleep and let the time pass 🙂
