Red Dead Redemption 2 The Smell of the Grease Paint Walkthrough

The Smell of the Grease Paint is a Stranger Mission Strand (Side Questline) in Red Dead Redemption 2. This Walkthrough shows how to complete the Stranger Mission Strand.

The Smell of the Grease Paint Starting Location

This Stranger Mission Strand starts in the Saloon of Van Horn Trading Post, to the eastern part of the map.

Arthur encounters members of a traveling sideshow, Miss Marjorie and one of her acts by the name of Bertram; a huge fellow with a deformed head. Because of his limited mind, he loses his temper quite fast and chokes the bartender. Time for us to step in and give him a few good hits to make him stop. Eventually, he will apologize for his behavior.

Marjorie is missing her second act, a man by the name of Magnifico. If we could look out for him, she would be relieved, because he is her main attraction.

Part II

Magnifico is located to the south-west of our last location and is sitting at a campfire in the wilds. He is not happy, that Marjorie sent someone out to get him back and he disappears in a cloud of colored smoke.
Now, we need to chase him. Always follow the clouds of smoke through the woods.

The slippery small fellow will trick us many times and eventually even sit in a tree along the way. He will disappear in smoke a few more times, before passing the train tracks.

Behind the tracks, he will literally run into the arms of his sideshow-colleague and Marjorie forces him to come along with them again and never to run away anymore.

Marjorie will thank you for your efforts and the Stranger Mission Strands actually ends here. But there is more!

Optional Encounter / Reward

Sometime after the events, you can go inside the Théâtre Râleur in Saint Denis to watch their show – amongst others.

If you do so, speak to the vendor after exiting and you will receive a letter and $ 40 from Marjorie.
