Red Dead Redemption 2 A Quiet Time Walkthrough

October 27, 2018 by Jack McBastard 4 Comments

A Quiet Time is the 11th main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of A Quiet Time Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

A Quiet Time is unlocked when you complete Paying a Social Call.

Quest Giver: Dutch
Chapter: 2
Region: New Hanover

Gold Medal Requirements:

  • Try to make amends with an old rival
  • Catch Lenny in the act
  • Don’t get arrested

Starting Location: Horseshoe Overlook, New Hanover

Get Lenny Drunk

Dutch orders you to take Lenny to Valentine and get him drunk. Now that’s good leadership right there.

Take your horses to the Smithfields Saloon in Valentine, and lean on the bar inside.

As Lenny tries to talk to you, you’ll be interrupted by a weird looking guy who is mimicking everything you say. Try to deal with him in a non-violent manner, and select charm when its available.

Your one drink turns into several. And at some point you’ll lose track of Lenny and have to find him.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Try to make amends with an old rival

Before you go looking for Lenny, take a moment to stop and talk with Tommy, the huge guy you nearly beat to death the last time you got in a barfight in Smithfields Saloon.

You can talk to him four times, and attempt to apologize for the fight. It seems that you probably gave him a concussion, because he doesn’t respond with much. Once you can no longer talk to him, go upstairs to find Lenny balancing a glass on his forehead.

You’ll get another drinking montage, and you’ll lose track of Lenny again. This time he’s easy to find, just follow the commotion at the bar downstairs.

After a blackout, you’ll wake up urinating on the ground at the rear of the saloon.

Go in the door to the right, turn left in the main room and go upstairs, turn left at the first landing, then turn right at the top of the stairs and go into room 1A.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Catch Lenny in the act

And that’s something you can never unsee. Keep talking to “Lenny” until the real Lenny finds you and gets into a slap fight with you.

Your mimicking friend from the beginning will show up again, and you’ll try to drown him in a horse trough. When you have control again, you’re on the run from the sheriff!

  • GOLD MEDAL: Don’t get arrested

Everything will be in slow motion, and at a weird blurry angle, but you can run from the law. Dodge the pillars by moving to the left, but watch out for the barrel halfway down the alley.

As soon as are behind the saloon, turn right and run along the wall towards the fence.

Even though the prompt is blurry, you can still jump over the fence by pressing the square / X button before you hit the fence.

If you do this correctly, you will wake up under a tree instead of in jail. After you vomit profusely, the mission will end.

This finishes A Quiet Time main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest Who is Not without Sin starts.

I lost all my weapons after I tried to jump the fence and woke up in jail, to lose all my guns. Can I get them back? And if. How?
