Red Dead Redemption 2 Preaching Forgiveness as He Went Walkthrough

October 31, 2018 by Jack McBastard 2 Comments

Preaching Forgiveness as He Went is the 32nd main story mission in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Preaching Forgiveness as He Went Main Quest including all Gold Medals for 100% completion.

Preaching Forgiveness as He Went is unlocked after completing American Distillation.

Quest Giver: Lenny
Chapter: 3
Region: Lemoyne

Gold Medal Requirements:

  • Kill 10 Lemoyne Raiders with a long scoped rifle
  • Complete within 11 minutes and 30 seconds
  • Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

Starting Location: Clemens Point, Lemoyne

Talk to Lenny

  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete within 11 minutes and 30 seconds

Lenny has heard of some Civil War veterans holed up in Shady Belle dealing weapons, and needs Arthur’s help to steal their money or weapons, or both! Sounds like another chance to give the Lemoyne Raiders a black eye.

As with all timed missions, skip the opening cinematic. Quickly get on your horse and follow Lenny to check out their defenses.

Right at the edge of the old Civil War battlefield is a ruined church which they use as a lookout point.

When you get close enough, you’ll see a wagon with explosives leave the church and start driving down a road into the woods. Follow that wagon, but not too closely.

In the distance you’ll start to see Shady Belle, an old plantation house where the Raiders are holed up. When Lenny prompts you, move off the edge of the road and leave your horse among the trees.

Follow Lenny to the front gate and use a rifle with a scope to examine the area.

Oh hello beautiful.

Now you can choose to just start sniping, or you can send Lenny in to act friendly to draw them into one spot for easier murder.

Given that the mission is timed, tell Lenny that you’re going to be taking the direct approach and start shooting.

  • GOLD MEDAL: Kill 10 Lemoyne Raiders with a long scoped rifle
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete with at least 70% accuracy
  • GOLD MEDAL: Complete the mission without taking any health items

Luckily you have to use a long scoped rifle, so that makes it much easier for you to conserve your Health. Plus, on this mission you don’t necessarily require head shots which will help keep your accuracy high. A shot center-mass with a decent rifle will usually kill your average Raider.

There will be a lot of targets, but choose your shots wisely. Just be aware that sometimes one of the Raiders can surprise you by charging your position while you’re looking through the scope. It could mean a big chunk of life lost if you’re not careful.

Once you’ve eliminated all the enemies, you must run in and search the area for weapons. Along the right side of the house is a wagon with several crates of rifles that the camp can use. Lenny will mount up on the wagon, and you’ll drive it back to camp.

On the way out, you’ll run into a Lemoyne Raider patrol who question why you’re coming out of their camp driving a wagon. Try defusing the situation, but chances are you’re going to have to shoot your way out.

You can either just drive away and let Lenny shoot, or break out the Dead Eye to end the encounter immediately. Afterwards, continue to drive back to camp. Mission complete!

This finishes Preaching Forgiveness as He Went main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest Sodom? Back to Gomorrah starts.

Next Up: Sodom? Back to Gomorrah

A small tip: to avoid the encounter with the approaching enemy after stealing the wagon, duck through the woods a bit to the other road.

Hi I completed this mission and the stagecoach is just parked in my camp. What does it do?
