Gauntlet: Pillbox Hill is a main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Gauntlet: Pillbox Hill for 100% completion.
NOTE: This is a heist prep mission for the Subtle Approach on “The Big Score”. If you choose the Obvious Approach, you will not have access to this mission.
Gold Medal Requirements:
- Mapped: Deliver the Gauntlet pictured in the email
- Not a Scratch: Deliver a Gauntlet with no damage
- Pimped Out: Spend $17,000 modifying the Gauntlet

Steal the Gauntlet
After leaving the Vanilla Unicorn, Lester will send you an email with the locations of three specific Gauntlets.
Look at the photos in your email and remember the first Gold Medal requirement:
- Mapped: Deliver the Gauntlet pictured in the email.
While any Gauntlet will do for the mission, you need three specific ones to earn the Gold Medals associated with each car. Head to Pillbox Hill. The Gauntlet you’re looking for is on the top floor of the parking structure between San Andreas Avenue and Vespucci Boulevard, next to the La Puerta Freeway and Peaceful Street.
There’s a pedestrian entrance off Peaceful Street that leads to a stairwell that will take you right to the top.
On the top floor will be the Gauntlet you’re looking for. The door will be unlocked, so you don’t even have to smash the window.
Good thing too, for the next Gold Medal requirement:
- Not a Scratch: Deliver a Gauntlet with no damage
Take the Getaway Vehicle to Los Santos Customs
Follow the yellow path to Los Santos Customs to modify the Gauntlet.
Purchase the Vehicle Mods Required for the Job
Select Gold Preparation, then Heist Prep for $11,000. Then go to Extras or Respray to bring your total up over $17,000 for the last Gold Medal requirement:
- Pimped Out: Spend $17,000 modifying the Gauntlet
You can add Armor, Bulletproof Tires, Tinted Windows, and Turbo, in addition to cosmetic modifications.
Take the Getaway Vehicle to the Lock up
Now carefully drive the Gauntlet to Lester’s lock up near the airport. Approach the doors but don’t get too close. The last thing you want is to havr a door scrape your bumper when you’re almost done. Then drive in and park.
Leave the Vehicle in the Lock Up
Get out of the car, and leave the lock up. The mission will end right after the door closes behind you.
This finishes Gauntlet: Pillbox Hill in GTA V.
