Finding all 30 Submarine Parts in GTA V is part of the Death at Sea Strangers & Freaks mission.
Starting Location: Death at Sea (Strangers & Freaks Mission)
- Location: Paleto Cove
- Quest Giver: Abigail
- Requirement: Complete “Blitz Play“, and own the Sonar Collections Dock.
- Can Be Started By: Michael
Find Abigail
After you’ve purchased the Sonar Collections Dock, go to Paleto Cove and right at the end of the docks you’ll find Abigail leaning against the railing looking out to sea. She has a not at all suspicious mission for you, to help her prove that her husband’s death in a submarine accident was in no way caused by sabotage. Seems legit.
Get in the Dinghy
You’ll get a message that a dinghy is now available to you at the Marina property to search for the missing submarine pieces. There are 30 in total, and by getting in the driver’s seat of the dinghy the closest piece will be visible on your map.
Opening your map, you’ll find the search area highlighted in green. Just head to each area in turn and once inside the area, you’ll start to get a sonar ping that will help pinpoint its exact location.
Dive underwater at each location and you’ll see a glowing piece of submarine wreckage to pick up. It might take a bit of maneuvering to locate but it will always be right at the center of the sonar ping on your mini-map.

What Lies Beneath
Once you’ve gotten all 30 submarine pieces and get back to your dinghy, you’ll get a call from Abigail asking you to meet her back at Paleto Cove. Head all the way back to the docks for your grand reward in the finale, “What Lies Beneath“.
