Minisub is the 26th main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Minisub for 100% completion.
NOTE: This is a heist prep mission for “The Merryweather Heist (Freighter Approach)“. If you choose the Off-Shore Approach through Mission “Cargobob“, you will not have access to this mission.

Retrieve the Sub
You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!
- Mission Time: Complete within 08:30
A short time after you’ve finished “Scouting the Port” you will get a text from Wade with the location of the minisub you’ll need for the heist. Head to the Hs location on your map, and once you are close enough to activate this objective, the mission timer will start.
The only other Gold Medal objective on this mission is a blessing in disguise, because fulfilling it makes this entire mission that much faster and easier:
- No Boarding: Steal the submersible without boarding the boat
Instead of boarding the Daisy-Lee, ready your sniper rifle and shoot the cables on the winch holding up the sub.
Once all four cables are severed, the sub will drop into the water. Swim to it, climb on top of it, and then climb in through the top hatch.
Go to the Extraction Point
Once in control, submerge and pilot the sub south around the terminal. Floyd will be waiting for you at the objective marker to lift the sub out of the water onto a flatbed truck. Skip the cutscene.
Drop the Sub Off at the Warehouse
Once loaded up, Floyd says that there’s a place you can stash the sub until the heist at Los Santos Marine. Drive to the objective marker and park inside the warehouse.
Get Out of the Truck
Questioning Floyd’s belief that the truck will be safe where it is, Trevor has time to make some perfunctory threats before chasing Floyd off. Once Floyd drives away in his truck, the mission will end.
This finishes Minisub in GTA V.
