Carbine Rifles is the 12th main mission chain in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Carbine Rifles for 100% completion.
NOTE: This is a heist prep mission for the Loud Approach on “The Jewel Store Job”. If you choose the Smart Approach, you will not have access to this mission.

Steal the LSPD Tactical Team Truck
During the heist prep for the Loud Approach of “The Jewel Store Job”, Michael will receive a text from Lester with the location of a LSPD Tactical Team that will have the weapons needed for the heist. The truck will not always spawn in the same location, and it will be on the move so use the Quick GPS option in your Interaction Menu to keep updating the waypoint as you approach the vehicle. Once you catch up with the truck, force it to stop or kill the driver with a drive-by (and the front seat passenger, who will otherwise slide over into the driver’s seat). You don’t have to kill the other two team members who will get out of the truck, but it will help with the immediate getaway. Once you’re ready, get in the truck.
Lose the Cops
Getting in the vehicle will get you an instant three star wanted level. You’ll want to lose this quick, since this is the sole Gold Medal requirement for this mission:
- Swift Getaway: Lose the wanted level within 02:00
Leave the immediate area, turning onto side streets and alleys frequently to break up your path and lose any units with line of sight on you. If you can find a roof to hide under to avoid view from police helicopters, this will also help. Another strategy that is very effective is to just get out of the vehicle and hide behind a wall out of sight. Paradoxically, police are only looking for you, and not their missing vehicle.
Go to the Garment Factory
Once the coast is clear, head to Lester’s factory and park the LSPD vehicle on the objective marker in the tunnel under the bridge to end the mission.
NOTE: If this is your first time completing this mission, you will automatically begin “The Jewel Store Job (Loud Approach)”.
