What Lies Beneath is a Strangers & Freaks mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). What Lies Beneath does not have a Gold Medal, and is not one of the 20 Strangers & Freaks missions necessary for 100%.
Starting Location: What Lies Beneath
- Location: Paleto Cove
- Quest Giver: Abigail
- Requirement: Complete “Death at Sea” by collecting 30 submarine pieces
- Can Be Started By: Michael
Find Abigail
Abigail will reappear on the docks to look at the evidence you found. Strangely the news that her husband’s submarine was tampered with is met with some resistance, as Abigail (revealing herself suddenly to be an expert in nautical engineering) insists that Michael is seeing normal wear and tear. Oh and don’t worry about that dying declaration scratched into the glass, that’s probably just a weather balloon. But at least you get that sweet reward.
Kill Abigail (Or Not)
It’s up to you what to do next. You can either let Abigail go with all the physical evidence of her husband’s apparent murder trusting her to take it to the FIB so they can open an investigation that will force her to answer some uncomfortable questions and tie up the life insurance payouts for years, or you can teach her a hard lesson about paying your contractors and do the obvious thing by putting a bullet in her brain. Either way, the mission is complete as soon as she leaves the area.
