GTA V Grass Roots - The Pickup Gold Medal Walkthrough

Grass Roots – The Pickup is a Strangers and Freaks Mission (Side Quest) in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Grass Roots – The Pickup for 100% completion.

Get in the Car

You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!

Mission Time: Complete within 02:45

After completing “Grass Roots – Franklin”, Barry will give you the location of two marijuana stash cars to pick up. The first is a Duneloader that is in the lumberyard off of El Rancho.

As soon as you find it, Franklin will call Barry to let him know, and he’ll warn you that cops have been watching the location waiting to arrest anyone who comes to pick it up. The mission clock will start as soon as you hang up, leaving you to deal with a police sting with no time for a police chase. So the best way to do that is to fulfil the second Gold Medal requirement:

Unwanted Outcome: Complete without getting a wanted level

Go to Barry’s Apartment

Now that you’re in the truck, it’s important that you don’t go left out of the lot and into the street. That will get a wanted level right away. Instead turn right at the driveway, going towards the warehouse at the back of the lot.

Then turn right again driving between the warehouse and the wall, then turn left and go through the sawhorses and out into the Los Santos River floodway.
