Trash Truck is the 29th main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Trash Truck for 100% completion.
NOTE: This is a heist prep mission for “Blitz Play“.

Steal the Garbage Truck
You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!
- Mission Time: Complete within 05:00
The Trashmaster is on its daily route, so its location will vary. Use your interaction menu’s Quick GPS feature to keep an updated waypoint on the map while you follow it. Once you get ahead of its route, make sure that you don’t have any weapons equipped and block its path with your car. As long as your hands are empty, the driver will stop and not react while you approach his door. Then simply jack that truck!
Lose the Cops
A few seconds later you will get a two star wanted level for stealing a civic vehicle. You will have to lose the cops, but do that while remembering the Gold Medal requirements for this mission:
- Undented: Deliver the Trashmaster with no damage
Aside from the Fame or Shame semi, I can’t think of another vehicle I’d less like to have a chase in than a Trashmaster. Luckily the answer to “How can I get away from the cops in a Trashmaster without wrecking it?” is “just don’t run from the cops in a Trashmaster”.
Seriously, just get out of the truck and hide until the wanted level clears. This way you won’t be getting shot at or rammed while driving it, on top of smashing into things accidentally because it turns like a pig.
Once you’re in the clear, just run back to the vehicle and get in. No problem.
Take the Garbage Truck to the FIB Lot
The only challenging portion of this mission is the remaining Gold Medal requirement:
- In the Dust: Reach top speed in the Trashmaster
As said before, the Trashmaster turns like a big. But what it lacks in maneuverability it more than makes up for in terrible acceleration. To actually get the Trashmaster up to full speed while avoiding damage from recklessly barreling down the street in a solid steel deathtrap can be a challenge. Especially since you don’t really have time to go back and try again. The best option is the approach to the FIB lot coming from Mirror Park Blvd. A good portion of that street is downhill, and its four lanes for the most part.
You just have to make sure to hit full speed before you hit the hill just above the turn south towards the FIB lot.
Then all you have to do is pull into the Covington Engineering lot and park on the objective marker. Get out of the truck to end the mission.
