GTA V I Fought the Law... Gold Medal Walkthrough

I Fought the Law… is the 35th main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in I Fought the Law… for 100% completion.

Gold Medal Requirements:

Tight Squeeze: Race between the two trucks
Bus Passed: Race between two busses
Follow the Leader: Follow Trevor through the tunnel
Mission Time: Complete within 12:00
Split Seconds: Use Franklin’s special ability during the race

Go to the Gas Station

You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!

Mission Time: Complete within 12:00

After the cutscene, control will switch to Franklin. You will get into the Ocelot F620 and follow the objective marker to the gas station where you’ll meet up with your targets, while Michael and Trevor get into position (and into costume). Skip the cinematic.

Race the Cars

The two trust fund brats will be driving an Overflod Entity XF and a Grotti Cheetah, ridiculously fast supercars that you may have trouble beating in a race, but all you really have to do is give them a challenge. They will leap to an early lead, driving directly into oncoming traffic. Follow their path through the cars, and then across into the right lane.

There’s no time requirement this time, you just need to use it at least once. Shortly after you are in the right lane, you’ll encounter two semi-trucks running side by side that you will have to squeeze between for the next Gold Medal requirements:

Split Seconds: Use Franklin’s special ability during the race

For safety’s sake it’s worth using Franklin’s special ability to thread that needle. About thirty seconds later you’ll see the same situation, but this time with busses. Again, use Franklin’s special ability to make the Gold Medal requirement easier:

Continue to race them for about another minute until Franklin calls Michael to let him know they’ll be there in a few seconds. Control will automatically swap over to Michael with him and Trevor in full highway patrol gear. Skip the cinematic:

Pull Over and Take the Cars

Flipping your siren on, you will start to chase the supercars. About 15 seconds later, Trevor will announce that one of the suspects have entered the Braddock Tunnel and he will cross over the median to follow through oncoming traffic. For the last Gold Medal requirement, you’ve got to follow him:

Avoid the traffic by sticking to the middle of the tunnel between the lanes, then crossing to the shoulder once you’re out. Eventually Trevor will cross back to the right side of the highway, and you should follow him. All you have to do is to avoid traffic and remain at high speed, for the purpose of completing as quickly as possible. Otherwise you don’t have to catch the speeders, and the chase will end automatically once you reach the Raton Canyon Bridge. Skip the cinematic.
