GTA V Cargobob Gold Medal Walkthrough

Cargobob is the 26th main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Cargobob for 100% completion.
NOTE: This is a heist prep mission for “The Merryweather Heist (Off-Shore Approach)“. If you choose the Freighter Approach through Mission “Minisub“, you will not have access to this mission.

Steal the Cargobob

You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!

Mission Time: Complete within 05:30

Some time after completing “Scouting the Port” you will receive a text from Wade telling you that the only place that you can get a Cargobob is Fort Zancudo. Thanks, Wade. Super helpful. Get yourself a fast car, and head for the base’s main entrance… and blow right through it.

Follow the road up the hill until you can cut across the grass to a parking lot on your left. From there, go through a break in the fence and head south between the fences.

Turn right between the large hangar and this small building marked J400, then go straight out onto the tarmac.

As you approach the Cargobob, if you cut left and go around behind it you can drive through the fence and not immediately alert the two soldiers guarding it.

Then just get in and fly away.

Lose the Military Chopper

Though this should be a tense situation with an attack helicopter facing off against a flying tugboat, it turns out the Cargobob’s massive engines actually have a speed advantage when not hauling anything. Turn east along the Zancudo river and just outpower them.
