Getaway is the 32nd main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5), and is part of the heist preparation for the mission Blitz Play.
This mission does not have a Gold Medal, but is still counted as one of the 69 missions you have to complete for 100% completion.
Starting Location: Getaway Car
- Location: Any
- Quest Giver: Steve Haines
- Requirement: Completed “Blitz Play – Intro”
- Can Be Started By: Franklin, Michael, Trevor
Steal a Car
There aren’t many requirements for this objective. You have to find and stash a getaway car to use after you complete Blitz Play. The car has to have four doors, and not belong to any of the main characters to hide their connection. When Michael describes the car, he says “something fast and discreet”. That leaves you a lot of latitude to choose a vehicle. Until you’ve completed this objective, every car that you get into will show a message in the upper left of your screen that evaluates its suitability as a getaway car. Once you have one that you’re satisfied with, you’re ready for the next objective.
Stash the Car
Find an alley, parking lot, or garage that is secluded and in the vicinity of Rancho or Cypress Flats. The closer it is the better, since you’ll likely be driving there with the garbage truck at the end of Blitz Play. Once you’ve parked in a suitable place, a message will pop up in the upper left of your screen saying “This spot can be used for the getaway vehicle”.
Phone Michael
Take out your phone and call Michael. Above the normal “Hang Out” option will be a new choice “Mark Getaway Location” which will lock in the car and its location. After a brief conversation with Michael, you’ll get the “Mission Passed” notification and you’ll be able to start Blitz Play.
This finishes Getaway Car in GTA V.
