GTA V Complications Gold Medal Walkthrough

Complications is the 4th main story mission in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Complications for 100% completion.

Gold Medal Requirements:

Mission Time: Complete within 05:00
Can’t Touch This: Take no damage during the fight with Simeon
Dirt Nap: Knock out the gardener with a stealth attack

Go to the House

You’re working against the clock, so skip the cutscenes!

Time: Complete within 05:00

Get in your car and head to the waypoint, driving as quickly as possible.

Find a Way Into the House

Pull up in front of the house and north of the driveway gate will be a door with a frame low enough for you to climb over.

Take Out the Gardener

When you hit the ground on the other side, you’ll see a gardener using a leaf blower on the left side of the lawn. While you can go to the right and avoid him completely, instead you should hit / to go into stealth mode and sneak up behind him. When you get close enough, hit / to knock him out for your next Gold Medal requirement.

Dirt Nap: Knock out the gardener with a stealth attack

Even if the animation shows the gardener start to turn around as you hit him, it will still count as a stealth attack and fulfill the requirement.

Out of stealth, run to the other side of the house and through the car port to find the gardener’s truck parked behind it. Climb up on the truck and then climb up to the roof of the carport above.

Then climb through the open window to enter the house, making sure to go back into stealth mode to avoid alerting anyone inside.

Retrieve the Car

Starting in the upstairs bathroom, quietly move past Jimmy’s room and go straight down the stairs ahead of you. At the bottom of the stairs turn left and go towards the kitchen.

Amanda and her tennis coach will enter the kitchen ahead of you but they won’t see you as you turn left and go into the garage to find the SUV.

Get in the car, and the garage door will automatically open for you.

Take the Car to the Dealership

Since the condition of the vehicle is not a Gold Medal requirement on this mission, feel free to drive recklessly in order to save time on your way back to the dealership. Halfway back however, the camera will zoom in on the back of the vehicle as Michael pops up in the back seat and puts a gun to Franklin’s head! You will talk for a while on the suddenly tense drive, until you reach the objective marker on the street across from Simeon’s dealership. Skip another cutscene to get your next objective.

Ram Through the Dealership Window

Drive straight at the window on the corner of Premium Deluxe Motorsport and crash through into the showroom. Skip the cutscene that follows.

Beat Up Simeon

Hold / to lock on to Simeon, and hold / to dodge his blows. This is important to do immediately because of the Gold Medal requirement:

While holding / to dodge, wait for Simeon to throw a punch, then immediately after Michael dodges, hit / twice to counterattack. Only throw two punches for safety, since Simeon can sometimes interrupt the third attack in a combo. Repeat this for the safest method to defeat Simeon without risk of damage. Alternately if you want a faster, riskier method, if you attack fast enough at the beginning of the fight you can usually get in the first combo and land a full three hits. If he doesn’t immediately attack, combo again to keep him staggered. If he starts to attack, you can either dodge or take a chance and try kicking with / to interrupt his attack. This is much riskier, but eliminates the time you spend waiting for Simeon to attack you. After about a dozen hits, you will trigger a cinematic (which you should skip) to end the mission.
